My husband and I stayed at a Carnifex Cottage, so we took a drive through the State Park. Not much to see, but we did enjoy a 2 mile walk with some beautiful over looks.

Great view of the Gauley from the lookout. Easy walk to the lookout with other trails as well. We didn't get explore them because it started to rain. There is picnic areas and a shelter. Worth the stop.

This is a very nice little battlefield park. It is well explained with the markers that are here. The reconstructed house at the battlefield is nice to go inside.

One of the most well maintained State Parks in West Virginia. The facilities are modern, the history is intriguing, and the trails are rich with views of the river.

Was quiet and very peaceful and the grounds were well kept. Loved the overlook. Didn't have time to do a lot of hiking but will definitely be back to do so.
