We make a point of stopping at Kirkwood Winery on our travels. We love their sweet fruit wines. We also love the drive on the narrow rural road which is especially pretty in the fall. Too bad we won't be here in the fall this trip.

I've stopped by this winery a few times. Its a great place to stop to get Christmas gifts and replenish our personal supply. Its out of the way but convenient to route 19 if you are travelling thru the area in Nicholas County. My favorite? I love the Strawberry and the Concord Grape. I'm easy!!!

It was our first visit, and we asked for a tour and were immediately given one by a very kind & lovely woman. She showed us it all, and explained things in good detail. The wine is FANTASTIC! The inside is lovely & smells so good! A wonderful experience!

The winery was small and so clean and the people there were wonderful and friendly, The black satin blackberry, soft sweet my favorite and I bought 6 bottles to bring home. I'm ordering a case for Christmas gifts.

The drive was so beautiful to Kirkwood winery. the tasting room was rustic and cute. Exactly what fits the rural area. the people were so nice. I have tasted peach wine all over the central us but Kirkwood peach is by far the best I have ever had. I was sad to hear they could not ship. They also have... More

My husband and I visited this past Saturday. We had a horrible experience at Smooth Ambler Distillery which made our day horrible. When driving home my husband suggest I look up Kirkwood Winery and they had a distillery also. It was on our way home so we stopped by. The woman was extremely helpful and gave us a tour on... More

Nice rural winery and distillery. The Red Currant wine is great and very drinkable for a fruit wine. Many other interesting wines available including Ginseng and Ramp. They also offer some simple corn based spirits. Friendly staff is helpful and offer samples freely. Plan on spending at least an hour or more. About 20 minutes north of Summersville, WV in... More

I went by myself, on my motorcycle. The gal who worked there was very, very nice. I bought a couple of sample bottle of "corn liquor" and sat an an outdoor table and read the newspaper until she closed up at 5pm.

Quite disappointed. Stopped here on our way home (from Florida to New York), checked online and every website indicated this winery/distillery was open when we were to arrive (Sunday, April 26, 3:00 pm). When we got there, they were locked up solid (but the open sign was still in the window). I'd call ahead if you are planning to visit... More

Stopped in for a planned visit to Kirkwood Winery and Isaiah Morgan Distillery on a drive about the countryside. Was not disappointed. Very pleasant staff member gave us a simple tour - it is not a big place. Questions were answered and the sampling was good; truly a matter of taste what folks can prefer. I give the place a...
