Beautiful park with some beautiful views. Be prepared to pull over and stop a lot as there are many nice spots you want to take a picture. If your in the area it's definitely a must see stop.

A stranger in an airport saw me wearing an Amtrak hat and recommended we take the train someday to West Virginia and check out Pipestem Resort State Park. Several years later we are here doing just that. This is a fantastic place! Huge, beautiful outdoor pool, small indoor pool, sprawling but beautifully designed lodge with nooks and crannies and vast... More

I stayed in the campground July 21 thru July 24, 2016. It is a beautiful campground with nice amenities. We travel from Ohio every year to go there. Sometimes we camp, other times we stay in the lodge. This year we noticed hardly any enforcement of park rules in the campground. Cars were parking on the grass and damaging the... More

What a great stop at the end of our WV vacation. Stopping here was a last minute decision, but we were so glad that we did. The grounds were so clean and all the employees were so friendly. The gift shop was huge and the air conditioning felt so good in there. Riding on the gondola was what tempted us... More

We had a full hook up site which was very nice for a state park. Nicely shaded. A lot of the sites are pull through like parallel parking which is different but nice. We faced the woods instead of a road. Other areas have nice tent sites.

5 ☆'s!!!! I really can't say enough great things about this place. We stayed in the campground with full hook up's for 3 days. I will note to anybody doing the same; make sure you have a regulator for your water hose. Their water pressure is 100 psi. I have never seen a Campground so accessible for handicap. They have... We stayed recently in McKeever Lodge, and took the kids down the cable car to the lower river valley. It's a nice 5 minute ride down to the bottom, where there's a river-side restaurant. We did not have a chance to dine, but saw a few people fly fishing before heading back up top. Overall, a pretty spot, but probably... More

We were actually staying at another of West Virginia's State Parks but stopped by Pipestem for lunch and the Gondola ride. We arrived at about 12:50 to discover that the ski lift (Gondola) would shut down at 1:00 for maintenance. We were very disappointed but the operators allowed us to go ahead and ride down and back up before they... More

Just took a random turn towards the park while going back to Louisville. The park is fully loaded with fun especially for nature lovers. Enjoy the walk through the greenery or enjoy the lake. It's so much fun. Even the food at the resort if delicious.

Rented a 4 BR cabin with friends. This park has everything. Golf, fishing, hiking, Tram, views, lodge, restaurants, nature center with ranger hikes, boating, games, and even horseback riding. Check when season starts and everything officially opens. They also have a nice campground for RV use as well as a non hookup area for tents. The people could not have... More
