We camped in a pop up camper. Quiet spot with lots of chipmunks running around. Beware there are also raccoons, be sure to secure your food. They will come out in daytime and go through your things. 😆 This is an older state park. I visited as a child and decided to bring my children. The park is in need... More

We stayed in an electric only site that was nicely wooded. The park offers almost anything you want. They have golf and mini golf. The have a small lake for fishing along with boat rentals. They have horseback riding and archery, tennis and nature walks. They have indoor and outdoor pools plus cabins, 2 hotels both with restaraunts. It is... More

This park's infrastructure is worn, but kept clean and serviceable. Don't let that get in the way of enjoying this beautiful area of the country! It's well worth the trip. The lodge and restaurants close on October 30, so plan now for next year. Enjoy!

I have been stopping by this state park for years. Fall is by far the most beautiful time but really, the view from the lookout area by the golf house is gorgeous any time of year. The gift shop by the tram is terrific, especially the area featuring the craftsmanship of WV artisans.

The fall foliage is the main reason to stay in this hotel. However, there is a lot of renovations being done at this time. The view outside our window was of heavy equipment and at 9 AM there were 2 workers running the loud machines. They moved the machines the following day but the scaffolding was still there. Our class... More

The park is big and offers a lot of breathtaking views along the drive within the park. We came across a classic car show too.

We stayed at the campground over the long Labor Day weekend 2016. Beautiful campground, but the best sites are certainly electric only. The primitive sites are basically in an open field. Most of the full hook up sites are small for big trailers. But most of the electric only sites are large & wooded. Biggest problem. Only one shower/bathroom building... More

Beautiful park with some beautiful views. Be prepared to pull over and stop a lot as there are many nice spots you want to take a picture. If your in the area it's definitely a must see stop.
