Have to pay to see
Jul 2021
The place looked very pretty from what I could see. It looks like it's currently being worked on. My sister and I decided to not pay money to go on the tour because we were only stopping to see the outside of it. Unfortunately, there's a wall that surrounds the palace, making it difficult to see anything. Kind of disappointing, but understandable.

Not what we expected…
Jul 2021 • Family
You can’t help but think that this may have been something a long time ago. I was surprised that given all of its publicity that the grounds were not better kept. While there was a person caring for the rose garden, and there were flowers all over the grounds … it just seems like they don’t have enough people to take care of all of it with weeds growing all over the place. I will say that the lotus pond was pretty co.

The palace building and structures are in pretty rough shape, and the fountains were barely operational. We opted to not go on the tour because it was very hot and we understood that inside the palace would be very hot, as well.

I just couldn’t help but think that this place is falling behind in upkeep and just needs help. I know that we will not be back

What a disappointment!
Jun 2021 • Friends
Highly disappointed with our visit! The Palace of Gold is in dire need of work on the exterior. Some places the pillars are crumbling, the paint is flaking, and the restrooms were disgusting. On a good note, the roses and flowers were in full bloom and were absolutely breathtaking! The lady inside the palace was quite unfriendly with my friend who walked in to ask where the restrooms were while wearing her shoes. There was NO sign saying you had to remove them to step inside to ask a question, and don’t have high expectations for anyone to be friendly because chances are that isn’t gonna happen! I’m sorry to our group that we wasted our time to even visit.

This palace is a top of a mountain and the views are spectacular! The tour was short ,simple and sweet . The drive up the mountain was awesome and the architecture of this place makes you feel like your in another country. Beautiful rose garden, statues and stunning colors.

Interesting even for the non-religious

Interesting stop even for the non-religious. Have never been here, so i don't really have a comparison. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, with some work ongoing. Garden was just wonderful to walk thru. Suggested donation to tour the palace, the guide was knowledgeable, the building itself is quite a tribute to the founder and the self-taught artisans who did the construction. It is a small building, but well worth a walk thru. Pretty good corona protection, small groups, as well spaced as could be in a small indoor enclosure. Masks required

Beautiful Artistry & Craftsmanship

The road to it will make you think you are lost until it pops out of the blue. Took the 20 minute tour and it was very informative. It was a bit pricey though at $9.50 per adult but the tour guide was very knowledgeable and allowed any questions of their religion or the facility.

This is a must stop. Beautiful in every way. The flowers were in bloom, wildlife was everywhere and the temple was amazing. This is a great stop to expand your cultural horizons.

Wonderful people, and different kind of way to get away.
Aug 2020
I was there last weekend 8/08/2020. The people are wonderful. I loved learning about Krishna through their eyes. We did the nature walk, and yoga daily. I'm half Indian, I appreciated the people. The temple was beautiful and so was the palace of gold. These are devout, but generous and kind people.

I stayed in the 134.00 suite downstairs. It was nice, no TV, but that is their way. (you should try that... its great.) There is singing at night as they pray, and the temple is open for you to hear sermons.

The yoga studio was wonderful, I tried this with a few instructors. All were polite.

It was the best weekend I've had in a long long time, and I appreciate it just for that. I want to go back.
