We had come into the area from out of state to investigate The West Virginia Penitentiary that evening and I surprised my friends by taking them to the Archive of the Afterlife: The National Museum of the Paranormal ( that's now in Cameron West Virginia .) They had no idea this place even existed , and they ( along with myself) loved every minute of it. Steve was very welcoming, friendly and informative. The items on display had a creepiness atmosphere about them. And if you thought that they didn't , they sure did after Steve told the stories of why they're in the museum. It was a perfect 1-2 punch for our day.

Yes, that's INTENSE with all caps - I must really emphasize that! Honestly, not for the faint of heart. Go here if you're looking to challenge yourself or a real hardcore thrill-seeker.
It's impressively authentic.
I've never experienced anything like it.

Firstly, they've relocated their location. It's a ride out to a more weathered environment/house. It's the opposite of "polished." The ruined tattered setting really added to the creepiness.
Inside, they burn incense quite heavily.
There's probably 5 rooms and 1 extra "dangerous" room.
You're welcome to decline entering any of the rooms.
There's a room for military, dolls, funerals, and much more..

I've had a morbid curious side since as a young adult. I can handle seeing quite a fair bit of horror, whether through a movie or places like The Mutter Museum (Philadelphia) but wow..
did I leave as quickly as I could as soon as the tour was over. Heavy stuff.
It's an impressive authentic collection for sure.

This is a very cool place (note: They are located in Cameron, WV now instead of Moundsville). The business owner Steve was very professional, personable, and knowledgeable and gave us a brief walkthrough. Afterward, we spent more time checking out the rooms and displays. This is truly a unique and fascinating place & worth a visit!

This museum has moved to Cameron, WV. It was really hard to find and is in an old house now, but it was a cool stop. It has a lot of interesting items. I think it would probably do better with a more professional atmosphere, and this location is not air conditioned and a bit tricky to navigate for anyone with dificulty. They did need to relocate very quickly, so maybe there will be upgrades in the future. Still enjoyed the place. We all left rather quickly due to strange physical reactions. Not sure if it was due to the heat or the vibes from the creepier objects, but when we got to the car at different times and compared notes we realized we all left feeling the same way.

Just a note, they have relocated. This is the new address: 86 RAILROAD STREET :: CAMERON, W.VA.

I absolutely loved this place. The owners were so nice and personable. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable on many of the artifacts that they owned and had great back stories that made everything extra creepy. I got a really bad vibe in the doll room, but for someone like me that just adds to the experience. I wish I didn’t live so far because I’d love to come back!

I love this place! It's great for paranormal & spooky stuff. Authentic and creepy, there's some real bad vibes from some of the pieces. The owner Steve is super cool n friendly. He had a lot of interesting experiences to share! He doesn't suggest anything without prompting. He answers questions and has plenty to say about his collection, but he allows you to have a genuine, natural experience on your own. As someone who's spiritual and intuitive, I found that invaluable! I stayed for a couple of hours and really looked at everything. I suggest sitting in the chairs in the 2nd room and just taking it all in. There's a lot of interesting stuff. I took a small weekend trip to WV and this was one of the main destinations I wanted to see. It wasn't what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. Be openminded and have a fun experience. Totally worth the trip from Southwestern Ohio. Next time I come I'm bringing friends!

Interesting collection of items that are all somehow related to the paranormal and some militaria. Well worth the price. Gentleman who runs it is also involved with Paranormal Quest on youtube and Amazon Prime.
