We enjoyed a nice lunch and a look around the resort. Everything was very nice. We ate at the Sam Snead restaurants near the golf courses and enjoyed watching some college football. We toured the resorts public areas

This should be the first place you visit - if it's your first visit to Lewisburg. Brenda greeter gave a us a 'guided' tour of the area on a great map of the area. She gave the normal spiel on what was available - but added some interesting details.
Lots of material about the area is available that might not be online.
At the end of West Washington Street - and plenty of on street parking w/o time limits.
Nice display of local art, too.

People make or break every experience and the nice lady who welcomed us was a treasure. She gave us great advice on what to see and we took it. Everything she suggested was wonderful. Great facilities here! Stop in! Free WiFi too!

Since we had not visited Lewisburg before, we made sure to stop in here and see what was around the area that we may not have discovered in our internet searches. Turns out more things than we thought. Once the gentleman at the desk found out what our interests were, he gave us brochures to several area attractions, and sure enough, we decided that some we hadn't heard of before and had not been on our agenda, suddenly got priority. Really happy we stopped in here because it was a definite plus in guiding our schedule in the area. Thanks!

Like all of my trips, I do a lot of on-line research and peruse the articles from travel magazines that I collected over the years. In addition, I like to visit the Convention & Visitor Bureau's in the towns or cities we visit. We met two lovely ladies, Rita and Dee, at the Greenbrier County CVB in Lewisburg WV. The office is located in downtown Lewisburg on W. Washington St. and housed in a building that was formerly a department. The Visitor Center is very spacious, well lighted, with a plethora of information from flyers, magazines and books. The ladies were invaluable with information and suggestions for the area. I encourage everybody, who is visiting the area, to utilize this free service. If you are curious, you might inquire as to which of the ladies is distantly related to the "the man in black".

The Greenbrier County Convention & Visitors Center is one of the nicest small town visitors centers I have ever been to.An attractive brick building with large windows and a great location in the center of Lewisburg with entrances on both Washington and Court Streets.Inside the 1st doors there is an area with brochures so you don't have to go into the main area if these suffice.Once inside there are large open sitting areas within the center with great views out onto the town, and information on just about anything you could possibly ask for regarding the Greenbrier County area. The 2 women at the service desk were excellent. This should be your 1st stop when visiting Lewisburg.

Great visit to Lewisburg... With friends to see the historic town. Rita who works at the Visitors center was outstanding in providing us with memorable places to visit and recommendations. She is a native to the area and knows all the best places to visit based on your interests. She is very knowledgeable to historical facts and unique places to see off the path. Thank you Rita. Dee also was so nice and personable as well.

Very stately, very clean, lovely spacious and relaxing rooms - but my drawback was, as my daughter described from active videos of the place, "where Vera Bradley threw up".
Why would such architecture be cluttered with "wanna be Disney world on a bad day" decor as you walk into the front lobby.
I understand it's been a while since the decades old expert has changed things but never would this fit a stately establishment like this.
President Monroe and the rest who had stayed on the premises would roll over and over if they could see it now wondering for what had they labored.
Enough about decoration, the grounds are restful, the colony shops are memorably placed and the artisans are unique -unfortunately most don't have websites.
The presidents museum above the colony shops on the hill is so beautifully situated for the breezes to sit in one of the chairs there is worth quite a little time. Truly it is the most pleasant spot in the heat in the entire estate.
The bunker tour was a necessity. To think of the the seriousness of our times is sobering which this tour evokes.
It deserves a visit - they are trying hard to encourage another visit but I think I'll pass.
