Learned a lot from visiting the cemetary of Lewisburg. An interesting display is located inside the enclosure of the grave site. A flat top stone marker was covered with a variet of coins that visitors had left. We also left coins. Not sure what they...More

Thanks to efforts to reintern these soldiers, there is now dedicated grave space 1/2 mile up the hill on the right on mcelheney road. It is not marked very well before you make the turn there. It’s a peaceful place to pause and reflect.

The area is well maintained and provides some information about the Civil War battle. I would like to have seem more information, if possible.

This is an interesting place to visit if you're interested in history. 98 Confederate soldiers are buried here in a mass grave, shaped like a cross. There is a placard that explains the story. Surrounded by woods, the cemetery is well-kept and very peaceful. Only...More

This cemetery was a little hard to find, but so worth it. So quiet and calm. Located on a hill outside of town just a short way. Well taken care of. Very humbling place.

We went to the upper cemetery to the mass grave. Very interesting and humbling to see. Easy to find and you can spend as little or as much time as you want visiting.

You got the Confederate tombstones, then some of children taken from this life too soon, mostly very old tombstones. somber setting and a must see especially for history buffs.

Very sad cemetery of Confederate soldiers who died in the battle of Lewisburg. Behind a beautiful iron fence in the space of a cross is a mass cemetery. Beautiful setting, you can drive to, off McElhenny or walk to from the library parking lot.

As mentioned a peaceful historical site. I always found it interesting, cool and sad.... a mass grave is a horrible thing, but to think they had the thought to make it in the shape of a cross. This place is week worth a look.
