There is a lot of fun and information packed into this seemingly small village! Friendly, knowledgeable interpreters were happy to shed light onto what we were seeing. One particularly nice aspect of this attraction is its coverage not only of the area's history and industry, but also the nature of the area--what plants and animals are native to the region. My husband and I went and learned so much as adults, but we also noticed how very kid-friendly the whole set up was. It seems like a wonderful place for families to come.

The two downsides were simply the limited number of hours they are open and the cost. When we went, the park was only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and on those days, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Considering the amount of things to see and do, it would be helpful if there were more hours to do it! Also, the price of admission felt a bit high ($15 per adult, $10 per child), not for the number of things the park has to offer, but for the limited amount of time visitors have to do it all. There are also plenty of opportunities to spend even more throughout the park--concession stand, activities for an extra fee, and a lovely gift shop / soda fountain.

However, that being said, the Heritage Farm Museum and Village does a wonderful job of telling the well-rounded story of this area of Appalachia, its people, nature, and history. There's something to interest everyone, adults and children alike.

This place is great for both adults and kids. There are several small but very good museums on site. Our favorite was the Museum of Industry which had a wonderful docent that was great at explaining so many different things in the museum (she said she is s former history teacher). She was not only a fountain of information, but was so lively and enthusiastic in her explanations. There are craftsman on site displaying and explaining the crafts they are doing (we spent time with the weaver and the basket maker). There are buildings set up to look like they would have in the 1800 and 1900’s and they are filled with many items from the time period. We spent time talking with the people in the blacksmith shop (they were demonstrating their skills), the general store and the church. All of the people who work at the Heritage Farm Museum are very friendly, knowledgeable and excited to share what they know with visitors. This is a great place to spend several hours.

This was a fun day that took you back in time. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. The museums were Smithsonian-quality. It took a couple of hours see everything and the price was only 12 bucks each.

We LOVE this place. You could easily spend all day here, with or without young children. Young children might revisit the petting zoo and play area. Adults will enjoy reading everything in the museums. All the staff here are so incredibly friendly, right from when you enter to when you exit. My one and only complaint is that when you sit in the front ‘carriage’ of the tractor ‘train’, you breath in and smell all the fumes from the exhaust...not great with a toddler on your lap.

Will definitely be returning to the Heritage Farm and look forward to bringing our family too.

Took the 2 grandchildren today to visit the Farm. Mask on and WOW what a great time enjoyed by all. The beautiful huge stair steps into the the trees was amazing and enjoyed by our Grandchildren. Once we climbed up the flights of steps there are walk ways of netting and netting with walking planks. Great addition to this wonderful place. The employees are friendly and eager to answer any questions you may have. New this year was the Nature room filled with aquatic creatures and even an aquarium. The farm has plenty of clean restrooms and have Purell sanitizer dispensers thru out the farm. The farm is truly a Blessing for all of us to enjoy! A BIG Thank you to the Perry family for there dedication to this wonderful place
