Battle of Droop Mountain is one of West Virginia's most important battles during the American Civil War. We arrived on a foggy day but drive, hiking and view still enjoyable.

Worth the drive over - beautiful view. We happened to be there when some local school kids were doing a re-enactment in full costume.

This is an amazing little battlefield to visit. There are a good amount of markers that explain what happened at the battle. The lookout tower also provides an amazing view.
