We took a four hour trail ride with Gary as our guide. The horses are well trained, calm and well taken care of. Gary really is passionate about his horses and his job and was very friendly. We took a private ride so we could ride to our level of abilities. Gary took us to the waterfall and to an... More

My family and I recently did a two hour ride here. We were seven adults total. We were staying in West Virginia, two hours away from the "stables." We left at around 8 in the morning to arrive for our 10am appointment. We were a minivan full of adults navigating winding roads for two hours, and we knew we would... More

We we're on a overnight trip. It did rain (tropical storm Bill) . Even though the weather wasn't the best the ride was! Devon was great with a couple of first time riders in our group. The horses are well trained and cared for. Gary cooked us a awesome dinner and great breakfast. If your looking for a place to... More

My husband and I had a wonderful time horseback riding with our guide Gary. Gary is passionate about horses, family, West Virginia, and providing great customer service. I was most impressed with the care he took to make sure my knees were comfortable in the stirrups. I'm not a spring chick, and I have arthritic knees, so this was a... More

Our family of 4 had a great day with Devon! The horses are very well trained and well taken care of! Not to mention the scenic views and awesome pictures! We visit WV once a year during Gauley Season and have been to all other riding stables in the area. I highly recommend Horseshoe Creek Riding Stable and will be... More

We visited Horseshoe Creek Riding Stable while vacationing back in August. I had talked to Gary on the phone and set up the reservations ahead of time for my family of 9. He told us where to meet and then we would follow someone to the stable. They arrived on time and we had about a 10 mile ride on... More

Our trail guide, Devin, was super nice and supportive. We asked for a private ride and got to cantor quite a bit. Horses were great. However, most off the ride was on old asphalt road, covered with gravel and dirt. We thought we'd be going through woods or along dirt paths. Also, we were told that the ride went along... More

Before going on any adventure, I was consult tripadvisor, and this trip was highly rated, so my family of 6 adults were excited about going. Our trip was scheduled for 10 a.m., but it was pouring at our campground. I called the stables & Devon said that they ride rain or shine. We proceeded to where she told us to... More

What an awesome time we had horseback riding through the mountains of West Virginia! The day started sunny and ended in a deluge and we couldn't have had more fun. Our guide Gary was awesome. You could tell that he loves what he does and how much he loves his horses. I highly suggest Horseshoe Creek and they have the... More

This was a great trip. The horses were very calm and nice, the people would stop to help if there were any issues, and it was not the typical plod along trip. The sights were beautiful and the stops we made were great adventures from the waterfall to the tunnel. And the dinner was delicious much more than I would... More
