My son and I did an overnight horseback riding and camping trip with Horseshoe Creek Riding Stable over the July 4th holiday. It was outstanding! Although we had never ridden with Horseshoe Creek before, Gary and Carly made us feel like we were on a reunion with old friends. The scenery was beautiful and the horses were the best I... More

Our group of six, two adults and four kids (ages 12-17), did the Waterfall ride. It took about 3 hours. First, I'd like to address what I have read in some of the other reviews. This is not a big professional stable - it's a small family business. While it is small, they have 22 horses and around 350 acres... More

This is a local company not one of the giant companies that seem to squeeze out the little guys. Our guide was so great, great sense of humor and very informative. The horses are very well kept and clean. The ride was so beautiful down to the Gauly River. The guide was excellent about using my phone to take our... More

Any time spent in the saddle is a good time to me, so let's start with that. I own horses, ride every weekend, and have for 30+ years. I like travelling to different states to ride different state / national parks, and always rent a horse rather than hauling my own there. I'm also not in any way a snob.... More

We took a four hour trail ride with Gary as our guide. The horses are well trained, calm and well taken care of. Gary really is passionate about his horses and his job and was very friendly. We took a private ride so we could ride to our level of abilities. Gary took us to the waterfall and to an... More

My family and I recently did a two hour ride here. We were seven adults total. We were staying in West Virginia, two hours away from the "stables." We left at around 8 in the morning to arrive for our 10am appointment. We were a minivan full of adults navigating winding roads for two hours, and we knew we would... More

We we're on a overnight trip. It did rain (tropical storm Bill) . Even though the weather wasn't the best the ride was! Devon was great with a couple of first time riders in our group. The horses are well trained and cared for. Gary cooked us a awesome dinner and great breakfast. If your looking for a place to... More

My husband and I had a wonderful time horseback riding with our guide Gary. Gary is passionate about horses, family, West Virginia, and providing great customer service. I was most impressed with the care he took to make sure my knees were comfortable in the stirrups. I'm not a spring chick, and I have arthritic knees, so this was a... More

Our family of 4 had a great day with Devon! The horses are very well trained and well taken care of! Not to mention the scenic views and awesome pictures! We visit WV once a year during Gauley Season and have been to all other riding stables in the area. I highly recommend Horseshoe Creek Riding Stable and will be... More
