After leaving the National Cemetery, my husband and I came upon the Anna Jarvis house. Unfortunately, it was closed for the season. Externally, it appears to be well-kept.

They have restored this home of Anna Jarvis back to the period when she lived here, as you may not know, but Anna Jarvis was the person to get "Mothers Day" going as she wanted to honor her own mother.

History of Mother's Day continued at the homestead in Webster, WV. Grounds and the House are well tended, with a visitors center and tours by appt. av

If you are near Grafton, take 30 minutes to visit this national shrine. Anna Jarvis is the founder of Mother's Day, and Mountaineers relish this event.
