Mountain Surf Paddle Sports offer high quality Stand Up Paddle Board rentals, tours and instruction. We have ACA SUP Instructor trained guides (the only company on Summersville Lake and New River with ACA trained SUP instructors). We offer flat water tours and instruction on Summersville Lake, Intro to white water SUP tours and instruction on the Upper New River, and scenic tours at Kanawha Falls in Gauley Bridge. This small, family owned business is passionate about paddle boarding and is eager to share this passion with you! Rentals are available for pick up at Water Stone Outdoors in Fayetteville, WV.

I highly recommend the 2 Hr Kanawha Falls SUP. It may be a little drive but it is a beautiful drive out to the falls and the waterfalls are amazing! It was not crowded so it felt like we had the area to ourselves. Megan was very professional, provided sanitized equipment and kept with social distancing. Her instructions for how to SUP was excellent. She took fantastic pictures of us all and made it the best experience possible. If/when we get back there we will definitely do this again.

We had a wonderful time with Meghan on our 2 hour guided trip to Kanawha Falls. She was so pleasant, fun, and knowledgeable of both the area and paddleboarding. Meghan took extra time helping my 9 yo get going on his board and he loved the trip which included swimming under a waterfall and jumping off a big rock. Meghan also spent extra time with my Mom who has joint issues making it a little harder for her to get up on the board. Would highly recommend Mountain Surf and would love to take a trip with Meghan again!

Megan was very proactive in communication and picked a location that had very calm water. She gave a quick tutorial as it was our first time- great amount of information, just the basics and a couple tips when we got in the water. I was shaky for the first few minutes but settled in quickly. Megan gave great instruction and had interesting stories to share and tips for the area. Would definitely recommend!

I booked a two-hour SUP tour with Meghan for my family of 5 with kids ranging from preteen to teenagers. Many of the other reviewers already detailed why Meghan does such a great job, and I agree. Before booking, she responded quickly to all my questions. The day before our excursion, Meghan called to touch base about the stormy forecast. On the day of, she was able to start our paddleboarding a little earlier to avoid the storm. She gave detailed instructions and pointers throughout. Even a not-so-coordinated person like I was able to do it. She took photos and emailed them to us after. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly recommend Meghan.

This was a great trip! Well worth the $$$, we got a personalized tour of the falls and lake, and he customized the time for what we wanted to do. The conversation continued on the shore as he gave us great advice on where to eat, other sites, etc.

Meghan was amazing! Our family of 7 was the entire group for a half-day tour. She was able make it fun for the adults, the teens, and even the 8-year-old. She went above and beyond with tailoring things for us, right down to the snacks. We would definitely do it again. If you’re considering taking the tour, do it! You won’t regret it.

Megan and Sarah made our first time paddle boarding fun and full of great views. Sarah was our experienced guide and gave us lessons/helpful tips before she took us out on the water and showed us a bunch of great spots on Summerville Lake. We were anxious at first but were able to learn quickly and really enjoy it. We had a fantastic time on the lake and really got to relax on the water. We would definitely return with Mountain Surf on our next trip.

We did stand up paddle boarding with Megan at Kanawha Falls, and it was an excellent time! Three of the four members in our party were complete beginners to SUP boarding, and Megan explained everything perfectly so we could feel confident in standing on the board.
The Kanawha Falls area was absolutely stunning, and Megan took wonderful photos of our group along the way so we could enjoy the experience after it was over. She took action shots as well as posed photos.
We all had a great time, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Megan was knowledgeable, helpful, and personable.

Amazing first tine sup experience with family. Meghan was patient with our kids and our questions (before Hand). Quality equipment and perfect adventure for our young and teen kids. Meghan took the photos and sent to us for free so we didn’t have to worry about cameras. It was highlight of our vacation. Water and scenery were beautiful. After the tour we stayed and spent a few more hours rock jumping and swimming in the lake.

Amazing experience! Totally worth the money! The scenery was awesome. We are taken to beautiful places only accessible by a paddle board, canoeing or swimming. We even climbed rocks and got right up close to waterfalls. It was amazing!! Megan was awesome at teaching me, my husband and our two kids (ages 11 and 13). I can't say enough about how pleased we all were with this experience!
