Enjoyed the relaxing train ride. Liked that fact that the train included a lunch and did not charge extra. I thought then lunch of cold cups, chips, past salad, cookies, fruit cups, and soft drinks was fine. Staff was very friendly

Have been on the regular train trip to High Falls twice and went on the Polar express last year! Beautiful scenery from the comfort of your seat in one of the cars. Great entertainment on the Polar Express! Any kid from 3 to 93 would enjoy it!

A nice train ride up the mountain. Great buffet lunch while we rode. Layover to see the falls and let children get some exercise. Beautiful scenery.

POOR planning...we had reservations since March but, when we boarded the train we were seated in a car that was reserved for a large family reunion..we felt totally uncomfortable. also the food was not very good, and trying to carry it to the table was awful. Too crowded in the dining and serving area.. WOULD NOT TAKE THIS TRAIN AGAIN.!... More

We enjoyed the train ride very much. We liked the stop at the falls the best and got a chance to walk down to them. The lunch was just ok. The sandwich buns looked like plain hamburger buns, the ham was a very cheap grade and had a strange taste and the pasta salad was over cooked and did not... More

the train experience was enjoyable with nice scenery. I would suggest extra money for the parlor car and the 4 hour train was long enough.

Wanted to do something different for our anniversary & parents anniversary so off to Elkins we went to enjoy a train ride. Once on the train they invited us to have lunch, cold cuts sandwiches, chips and fruit - nothing fancy but filling. The staff was hospitable and friendly. Unfortunately by the time we got to the falls it was... More

I've been on this train about 15 times now, taking tourists to it and riding along with them. It truly is a very enjoyable ride up the Shavers Mountain along side the Shavers River to the High Falls of the Cheat River. Being able to get out and walk down the the waterfalls is quite nice, and the food that... More

My mate and I booked the 1920s-era Pullman Parlor car for a weekend ride up the tracks to Cheat Falls. Yes, most definitely enjoyed the ride and the short hike down to the falls, despite the persistent drizzle. The train is pulled by a pair of interesting old diesel locomotives. If you're looking for steam, head over to Cass, but... More

[My wife and I just returned home from leading a group of 50 seniors from our church on a four-day, charter bus outing to the Elkins, WV area. This was one of many places we visited during our trip and the review is oriented to our experience travelling by bus as a large group.] Our 50-person group arrived about 10:30... More
