You take some pretty narrow, winding roads to get here, but it is a nice park. Lots of old picnic benches, several covered pavilions, playgrounds, fishing, a few trails (we just drove through, didn't do any trails). Saw deer and birds. Peaceful. Roads are narrow...More

There are tons of trails to find yourself (or lose yourself) on. I really loved the pool but due to budget cuts it will no longer be opening. I foresee myself going there less and less. It's also tucked pretty far out of the way.

Nice park with a pool, campsites, hiking trails, picnic areas, and restroom facilities. Well maintained. We enjoyed our visit and plan on returning during our next visit to West Virginia.

Nice little pond for fishing. Trails look to be wide enough and well maintained. Camping area looked inviting with plenty of playgrounds and an archery range. It was even a relaxing drive out with well marked roads.

We went camping here. The camp sites are clean and easy to get too. I little too close together in some areas, but some were semi private. The trails were well maintained. We were disappointed to find the pool closed.

Very beautiful and yet close to town. Experience the great outdoors while within minutes of the city limits.

What a great campground, the running creek is so peaceful. We stay every year around Memorial Day and are never disappointed. Hiking trails are nice and clearly marked, rangers are friendly and the camping rates are incredible.

Two dogs take forever to get worn out but Kanawha State Forest sure does help. We haven't walked the same trail as we start in one place and just make twists and turns. Maps are available and trails range from beginner to pro but they...More

Planning a gender reveal party and was wondering if it cost anything to reserve a shelter or if it's on a first come first serve. Also they are wanting to shoot the target are fire arms aloud within the shelter areas. Thank you in advance.
