About
Featured on Fox 5 News, Charles Town Ghost Tours offers two very different historic and haunted experiences. A traditional ghost tour is a chilling two hour walk through the historic district. Visit two cemeteries and enter the haunted basement of the oldest graveyard in town. All of the stories you will hear are authentic and documented. Visit over fifteen stops and hear the tormented tales of over 100 wandering spirits. Our newest tour is our "Cemetery Stroll," a popular two hour event featuring haunted stories, the history of the Victorian Era (and earlier) monuments in two of the most beautiful and historic graveyards in town. Cameras and video and audio equipment are welcome as many unexplained photos, voice recordings and videos have been captured. Comfortable shoes and flashlights are recommended and reservations are required. Private tours are also available.

Ann was a blast. Great evening stroll with lots of awesome stories of everyday people and their demise from the Charles Town area. Highly recommended as a laid back and fun walk. Lots of laughs and interesting facts that you won't read in any books, expect maybe hers.

My son and I took a private evening tour with Ann. She is an amazing lady with so much historical knowledge and interesting stories to share. The traditional haunted walk was fun, informative, and a little spooky! We had an awesome time and highly recommend calling Ann to experience a tour with her!

I was fortunate to be visiting Harpers Ferry when near by Charles Town was having its Heritage Fair. One of the events was a walking tour of various sites in town that are haunted. The tour guide, Ann Fern, was a very capable guide of the supernatural. She led our group down sidewalks and across streets to several of the town sites where sounds, smells and sightings of slaves, soldiers and ordinary citizens of Charles Town still linger. During the tour one of the departed made us aware of his presence. The lights and warning bells at a town railroad crossing flashed and sounded briefly signaling that he was with us that night.
If you avoid cemeteries in the daylight, you will be very leery of walking through them at night. This tour visited two cemeteries, one a public cemetery, Edge Hill, and the other the cemetery of Zion Episcopal Church. Perhaps the most disquieting stop was the burial spot for Black slaves and servants of the community. No stones mark their resting place. Yet the town erected a massive water tower on the site that disturbed those buried there. How do we know? Take the tour and see for yourself.
The tour which lasted almost two hours was conducted at night with tour members encouraged to bring their own flash lights. Mrs. Fern's husband served as a cross walk guard so the group could safely cross streets. There was a large group of children with their parents on this evening. I wouldn't say the tour was frightening. It is more of each individual's imagination making events and locations scary. The cost was nominal and well worth the money. I strongly suggest this ghost tour in conjunction with the one at Harpers Ferry.

We were interested in scheduling a private tour and called to inquire about cost and availability for the dates we would be visiting. After abruptly being asked, “what do you want” she hung up on us. Thinking it may have been a mistake, we called back. Again she asked, “what do you” but waited for our reply. She then said, “I’m sick” and proceeded to hang up on us for the second time. I completely understand being sick but that’s not a reason to mistreat a potential customer. If you are no providing tours you may want to change your information to reflect that.

Dear Miller4Family, I am very sorry for your experience with my excellent tour company. I had just been released from the ICU at Jefferson Hospital where I had been rushed days before. Once home I was unable to feed myself or even make it up off the couch without aid. I do not remember anything for over a week's time including your call. I don't remember speaking to my children via phone although I am told that I tried. None of us ever know when a health (or any other crisis) may affect us or the people that we love. I am slowly getting back to doing tours and invite your family to enjoy a VIP Tour on me. I do ask that in the future you review businesses with the knowledge that something may be going on with a home-run (1 person) company before writing something that may severely affect the company. Thank you and I hope that you enjoyed your time in Charles Town - it is a wonderful city with tons of small businesses that depend on positive reviews. God bless and keep your family safe.

Your tour guide, who has extensive knowledge of the areas history, makes sure not to leave anything out as you follow her around the historic town. You will more than likely leave with unexplainable pictures/events that happened while on the tour. Its great fun for those of you who believe in the paranormal! I would highly reccomend it.

Follow your tour guide (dressed in period costume) around the streets of Charles Town and learn of the past that could make any spirit restless. This quaint town has history to spare, just the history related to the John Brown raid on Harpers Ferry would be enough to raise the hair on the back of your neck, but the tour doesn't just focus on the 'easy' ghosts. This is a well researched history tour with a focus on the macabre and is well worth the price of admission.

We enjoyed this tour and Rick does a great job at entertaining all ages. If we stayed in the area longer I would likes to have done a day tour with him too!

Hi folks! I've written tripadvisor multiple times asking for this review to be placed on Ghost Tours of Harpers Ferry as it belongs there. Our ghost tour is more suited for older children and adults as some of the stories are very graphic and we do have visits from those who lived here long ago. I hope to hear from you soon! Happy Hauntings from the Ghost Lady of Charles Town!

This was the first ghost tour I had ever been on so I didn't know exactly what to exact. Well I was blown away by this tour. It was amazing! Ann knows her info! I loved her clothing choice (that dress was awesome). Aside from it being a ghost tour I learned so many new things that I never knew about charles town and I have lived 15 minutes from there my entire life. I would recommend to anyone who wants a fun, interesting and information gaining experience! Can't wait to go on another tour with Ann!

Hello Ghost Lady! Are you still in the area? I'm assuming that the tours go on. We've done two of them already, and we had fun both times. I thought you were in North Carolina. We were just down there touring and I thought about you and wondered where we could go down there to take a tour that you had been working on.
Thanks
