Ok Park, not enough shower/toilets for 76 camping spots only two locations one has a men and women's bathroom each with one shower and two toilets. The main area has 4 of each for both a men and women's bathroom. Camp store is well stocked and not too unreasonably priced. Avoid the tent only sites on the outside road(one way) away from the river they are against a mountainside and have just enough room scraped out to pitch a tent. Area because it is next to a river and in a valley is ~ 10 degrees cooler than elsewhere nearby. No nearby cell tower but can get wireless at the camp store.

Spend the day at this park and really enjoyed it. They have a really neat trail that fallows under a cliff along the river. It is easy to hike becuase they built a really nice wooden deck to walk on. WE visited the park in Middle of Oct and we still went for a dip in the river. The water was crystal clear and was still warm. there are a lot of rocks but we found a area where it was over my head so the rocks were not a problem.
They offer camping and many sites are right on the river edge with great views.

Stopped here on my way to Elkins for a birthday getaway. I’m a photographer and thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures of the beautiful sites inside the park. The park is relatively small to drive through but if you park and get out and start exploring you will find beautiful trails and the river. I highly recommend seeing this very well-kept park. It was good for the soul.

We hiked the trail to the caverns. We took the upper route and came down and returned through the caverns. It was a hot day and the river sure looked inviting. It looked like a nice clean river. There were folks swimming in it. We did not make use of the camping area but it did look like a nice place to stay. Will be back again. Swimming is an "enter the river at your own risk".

Went for an early morning hike and it was beautiful. As other people stated, the signage is terrible but the trail is easy and has great photo opps. There were picnic areas as well and make sure you go to the walk near the cave. Turn in at the bridge to grind the trail because it is not marked.

I've lived in WV nearly all of my life and so it is not unusual for me and my husband to take day trips to our beautiful mountains. To celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary, we did just that choosing the Canaan Valley area for our day trip. On our way there, I happened to remember a post on Facebook about Audra State Park and asked if he would like to check it out. We were so happy I saw that post. The park is small but beautiful. The hike most everyone mentions is definitely beautiful and in parts on the moderate side of hiking ability, however, please walk to the cave. The view of the river is breathtaking and a good place for pictures. It was too cool for us to swim that day but there appeared to be some good swimming holes at this park and if I'm in the area again on a hot day, you can be sure Audra will be on my radar for a swim. Although we did not use the facilities, we did see several picnic areas from shelters to private coves to enjoy a picnic with family and friends. We drove through the camping ground and like some else mentioned, it would not be conducive to large RVs.

We stayed at site #4. Great view of the river, cozy space for tents and cars. The sites in the section we stayed were spaced out well for privacy but some looked closer to each other closer to the office. The campground staff were friendly and helpful. Bathhouse and camp office is a short walk. Clean, good water pressure, plenty of hot water but nothing fancy. The Alum Cave trail was pretty cool however further into the woods it wasn’t well maintained so bring good hiking shoes.

We are reside in SC but we enjoying our mountain home in West Virginia & have our 6 year old greatgrandson with us. We wanted to let him experience swimming in a mountain stream & brought him to Audra. It's the perfect West Virginia "swimmin' hole"! Water clean, not too deep & even though the campground was full & lots of people visiting on this beautiful Saturday, it never felt overcrowded. There are so many places to enjoy the river, some a bit of a climb, but this 78 year old managed without much difficultly. We hope to return sometime & camp by that gorgeous river.

I have been to WV so many times, and had never been to this park. My cousins drove us there, and even they did not know that there is a hiking path (board walk) somewhere. Some signs or a map would be nice! I'm bummed that we couldn't find it.

The Middle Fork River that runs through Audra is a favorite for playing in the water in the summer. It is very scenic with big boulders and small waterfalls. The campground has about 68 spaces with some of the sites having the river as your back yard. There are about 3 miles of well groomed hiking trails. The trail along the river goes by Alum Cave which is really a long area of overhanging rocks. This is a very nice park and I highly recommend a visit when in the area.
