It's been 3 weeks since I ate here and I'm still fuming that I spent the money ($1137 for 3 people!!). After hearing about the Herbfarm for years, I decided to book it for a special birthday weekend with my sisters. It was meant to be the highlight of the weekend and it was a HORRIBLE experience. We could almost get over the odd décor if not for the terrible food. The food wasn't good (I actually had to spit some things out). Not even the wine pairing could save our evening. They spent 45 minutes(!) talking to the guests about each ingredient and where it came from. After the build up, prepare to be disappointed. The owners clearly haven't eaten out lately to discover that whatever made the Herbfarm popular 10 years ago, will no longer cut it. There are way too many amazing restaurants in the Seattle area that can be thoroughly enjoyed at a fraction of the price. DO NOT waste your money here.

I have dined here 4 or 5 times, and it is always a culinary excursion! The presentation, food, wine pairings - all are tastefully curated. Be sure to stay over at the Lodge, or arrange for transportation, as you will have enjoyed far too much alcohol to be legal to drive home. But it is all so yummy.

It's just one of those once-in-a-lifetime dinners that you have to try. Such a creative menu and the wine was incredible. I highly recommend the family-style seating as they do a wonderful job keeping conversations lively and it really adds to the experience. We had an absolute blast.

We ate at the Herbfarm, but the tour before it was wonderful. I do a lot of cooking and was introduced to a number of herbs I was unaware of and interested in working with. Even if you don't eat at their fabulous dinner, wander the garden.

I read some of the other lower rated reviews and a few were spot on with what we experienced. The owners are weird and they are full of themselves. To hear them speak and go on and on about what they are talking about.. My ADHD went full on during their introductions to whatever they were talking about, the monotone voice of the guy drove me nuts and it was making us want to leave. In fact, we did leave before dessert was served, I couldn't take it anymore. As we are up and trying to get out of there, the male owner pretty much pounced on us and was in disgust that we were leaving. "Is something wrong?" Me.."Yeah, I am tired and I am over this." Him.."But we are serving.. blah blah blah.." Me.. "Whatever.. We are out of here. Give it to one of the other guests who don't feel they got enough food." We were staying at the Willows Lodge, so it was a short walk to get to relax and go enjoy ourselves again. In all honesty, I would rather eat at the Barking Frog over the Herb Farm. The controlled meal, from the wine, to the dinner rolls, to each course was tiresome. We weren't alone in our feelings, the tables next to us were upset too. We were all joking that hitting Burger King after would be in order to get enough food before going to bed. To whoever enjoys this experience? I have to wonder what sort of restaurants you have been to in the past. if snooty, self absorbed places, with an anally retentive, controlled atmosphere, during a long dinner service is your thing.. You'll love it here.
