- William L4 contributionsBest Vineyard & Amphitheatre in Woodinville. Ask for Ariel who will give you a tour of the premises. If you need one more "Happy Place" look no further! Do you like amazing wine, food & out door concerts? You will get that and more when you visit Chateau Ste Michelle Vineyards. Woodinville would not be the cozy place without this vineyard. It is because of Chateau, you have vineyards from all over Washington & Oregon promoting their wines in the wine strip areas. From the moment you enter the grounds of Chqteau, you will be in awe of the magnitude of the property. From the private domes for your tastings, to the wine tours will put a smile on your face. Once you enter the tasting room, you will not want to leave. They have several options which are all worth tasting. Ask for Ariel who is one of the ambassadors and she is one of the main reasons we became members. She is Canadian like us and that is why it makes it worth going down every quarter to pick up your special order. Bonus is staying at Willows Lodge across the street to be able to bring back some of your wine. Their food menu is always changing and always delicious! Check out their Summer Concert which has a band for everyone. Try the private seating or general area which we enjoy packing a picnic cooler and bare feet on the grass. Or they offer food trucks and plenty of wine. Enjoy the good life at Chateau and make sure to talk to Ariel.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 10, 2023

Ariel was our tour guide for the grounds, explaining the history of the winery and providing an excellent wine tasting experience. Tasting included five different wines capably described by our server. The experience is a leisurely experience with no rushing involved. My daughter and I made the mistake of having brunch before we arrived. The winery has a chef’s kitchen which offers lite meals or elegantly prepared small bites. The grounds are spectacular as is the tasting room. It appears that no expense has been spared. As an added plus the winery has a music venue on premises which occasionally offers concerts from well known artists - tonight was Diana Krall.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 9, 2023

- Rebecca BRoyal Oak, Michigan56 contributionsUnderwhelmed but overpricedMy husband and I visited the winery on a Thursday afternoon. The property is beautiful but we wished we had gone to a smaller winery for a more authentic experience. The winery did not appear particularly busy but we were told that, due to reservations for wine tastings, they would try to accommodate us. After waiting a few minutes we were approached and advised we could be seated only for a premium wine tasting or just have a glass at the walk up bar. We should have just had a glass at the bar but agreed to the premium tasting, not knowing details. We were ushered into a glass enclosed room and the server was very professional and described the Italian style wines to be poured ( overseen by a partner in Italy but grapes grown and wine made in Washington.) The tasting of 3 wines plus a 4th bonus wine was $95 plus a 20% tip. So about $120 for what was probably 1 or 1.5 glasses of wine. It wasn’t awful but we’ll try one of the many local wineries next time. We were told the price of the tasting when we were seated. I guess we expected a better experience but the one Cabernet was the only one we really liked.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 29, 2023

Thankfully, on Fridays, Chateau Ste. Michelle has extended hours. We crossed the Puget Sound from the Olympics at 4:30 and made it to the winery as those hours started at 5:00. There are no tastings at this time, but the shop stays open to sell bottles you can drink on the grounds until 7:00. This was perfect as we bought two bottles, a chardonnay and a brut rose', and shared them in the shade in front of the Chateau. It is a very relaxed atmosphere that allows you to try what you want and share with friends. We saw several locals out to enjoy the weather, which was perfect, and the company. While I have enjoyed tastings in Napa, this was a really great way to experience, less formal and more relaxed. We then went inside and ordered a dozen bottles to be shipped to our homes. This was my wife's favorite activity on the trip.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 21, 2023

This is an amazing site that competes with basically any wineries I've seen in France. It's so beautiful it's almost sureal. However if you're looking for a quiet romantic place, this would be a bad choice. Place is huge and was absolutely packed. Probably even more in summer time (we went in February).
So we picked up a couple bottles to bring home and headed to the grocery, just about 10 minutes away. To find out one of the bottle we bought (Erath Pinot noir 2017) was $6 CHEAPER! So there we were, thinking having a decent bottle (paid $19 at the winery) to find out it was $12.99 at the GROCERY (not a liquor store). Not only was I upset that it was almost 40% cheaper, but it was in fact a cheap wine. I did not impress the wife that much on that one.
Never again. I will never, even buy anything that comes from this winery.

All Hype, Disorganized and Poor Guest Services!!!
We’ve been members of the winery for years and try to attend the outdoor concerts. Not any longer. Closing our account first thing Monday.I hope they sell this place, it’s poorly managed and despite the hype, the wines are overpriced and poor value. You are paying for a make believe facility managed by an organization that only cares to take your money. Do yourself a favor and visit the smaller vineyards in Woodinville!
Recent issues:
- No support for guests, even in emergency
We went to the Steve Miller show and just as the show started I received an emergency response call that there was a fire alarm going off in our home, however, I could not hear the emergency responder and had to hang up. I promptly went to 3 security locations asking if there was a quiet place I could go to to take an emergency call for potentially having a house fire. Several of the folks just seemed to care less. Zero support and to top it off, I asked if I could duck out of the venue and get a pass to step back in after confirming the emergency. No support, suggested to go to several locations for supposed guest support, and I was told to go into the ports potty… which I tried first. So I had to leave and it turns out the house wasn’t actually on fire. What a terrible experience.
- Terrible lines for the concert.
Security lines took over an hour, even arriving 2 hrs in advance. Poorly staffed, inconsistent bag checks, and vastly undertrained. Skip this venue. If you have lawn seats, good luck!

Went to see Jackson Browne on 9/17/22...It was outrageous to see the level of disrespect towards this artist. The crowd virtually ignored him when he appeared on stage for his first song. Most all of the attendees talked throughout the concert so hearing him was virtually impossible. I've seen him at the Greek theater and you could hear a pin drop and the whole place danced and sang to his iconic music. I wouldn't blame him if her never played here again.

We have been members here for many years but the fairly recent renovation and their efforts during COVID-19 prompted me to write a review. The grounds are amazing, the staff have become excellent and the experience (as a result) is top notch. A bottle of Luxe and some of their excellent lunch makes for a great visit.

Friendly staff, and nice grounds. We did a wine tasting ($15) but were not sure if they provided tours. If you do a tasting you get 15% off wine purchase. Nice selection of wine, including some other local wines.

Overall this is a great winery to visit- the quality of wine is excellent!
We had a very warm welcome on arrival and they were very accommodating. We came for the dim sum pairing.
Music was not right for the atmosphere and I wonder if they were playing it so people wouldn’t linger.
The dim sum was excellent as were the wine pairings but I would have to say it was pretty pricey - 5 dumplings & 4 1 oz samples for $60 a person.
I must say again, the dumplings were delicious! Service was very friendly as well.
Our actual server was very warm and friendly but with us only briefly. The sous chef was wonderful and gave us a great description of the offerings but then a wine Educator Eran, did come and spend some quality time discussing the wines with us and that really elevated the experience- so if you go, make sure you ask for some time with one of these folks! Kudos to you Eran! Great wine knowledge!
Because of him we walked out with a case of wonderful wines rather than just a couple of bottles.

We came here for a concert. My other half is walking disabled. There was virtually no accomodation in place for him. There was a small section at the top of one of the segmented hill seating areas, that was full of people, with no seating. I saw people with walkers and wheelchairs having to navigate rocky dirt amongst throngs of attendees. If you are fortunate enough to land a location near the sidewalk, then you should be good, unless you need a bathroom.
The food is super overpriced. $52.00 for a lame-burger and soggy fries, for 2. Eat before you come.
The grass was dry and dead.
Of the many winery venues from Oregon, Washington, and Montana, this was the most unfavorable venue for a show.
The wine flowed quite freely, and over service was apparent. Makes for alot of tipsy folks at the wheel, which is unfortunate.
The show was Bonnie Raitt.
The wine selection is amazing, and this would be a nice place to do a wine tour.

There are so many tasting rooms in Woodinville, and it's easy to forget about (I believe) the oldest winery in the area. Chateau St. Michelle's grounds are just as beautiful as ever. Except for concerts I've attended through the years, I hadn't really been here except to bring out of town visitors. The Chateau has a great wine tour and a really gorgeous tasting room. If you'd like to enjoy the recent fantastic weather, the table and chairs and benches strewn over the lawn and landscape are a perfect place to do so. And of course, you have the iconic Chateau St. Michelle wines to enjoy while doing so. There's a small menu for noshing - I haven't tried any of the items myself but it appears to be a nice assortment. Many people today were enjoying the snacks and the wines throughout the grounds. It's just a wonderful place to enjoy an hour or two or three on a breezy summer afternoon.

By far the closest accommodations are at the Wiilows Lodge but be prepared to pay top dollar for a highly rated stay. We stayed last weekend and though expensive I will return. Eat at the Barking Frog if you have a chance.

UBER is big in this area. Otherwise, there are many wine tour limos, vans and shuttles.
