Some of my favorite campgrounds are in the national forest. Amazing hiking trails away from the crowds. Scenic vistas. A great place for your next vacation.

Took my mom for a 'color drive' this fall. Went up a very bumpy dirt road at one point, but worth the rattling to get the elevation and magnificent view! Throughout the years our family has driven many roads in the Wenatchee National Forest, camped,...More

Can’t beat the clean mountain air in a well maintained national park. You could spend a few days and have plenty to do. .

This is one of the most beautiful forests I have ever laid my eyes on. It looks like the gods themselves handcrafted each and every detail- large or small alike. The snow capped mountains, peaks and valleys and the snow tipped trees were absolutely beautiful...More

Very scenic. Makes for an enjoyable drive. Plenty of good photo ops. Autumn color just starting when we were there so will have to make another trip for the full color later.

What's not to like... beautiful mountains and river rapids abound in this National Forest! If you take Amtrak from Seattle to Wenatchee, you also get to see the Puget Sound coast line before turning inward. It's a 4 hr train ride, but there are Park...More

You need to go there to appreciate the beauty of this great country. Photos and other media do not do it justice, go there and you will understand.

Campgrounds on the outskirts of the area run $20-25 for a tent site. If you want to camp inside, they are hike-in sites, but require a permit. Otherwise parking is $5 a day if no pass. Permits are applied for in town and... More
