The park is laced by stone paths which take you to many interesting viewpoints and rock formations. Paths can be quite steep so take a walking stick. If you don't have one there a number hanging outside the gift show you may borrow.

This is our second time visiting the gardens and we are still impressed at the work that went into creating a bit of paradise on top of a dry mountain. The pools and trails are well maintained and it was not very busy.

Was a great outing for the kids. The gnome hunt kept them completely invested in the hike. Gardens were well manicured. Not for those that have ability issues

During our family vacation to Lake Chelan, my husband just happened on Ohme Gardens as a nearby visit. It is about an hour away from Chelan, WA (depending where you're coming from) and 2.5 hours from Seattle. It is breathtakingly stunning where you'll see ponds, waterfalls, koi fish, several flowers/vegetation, pine trees and more. I absolutely LOVE those attractions where everywhere you turn offers a unique a beautiful view.

It costs $7 for adults and even cheaper for children making it budget-friendly and entirely worth it. I was shocked to see many "unimpressed views" which I found interesting. I'm from Chicago and live in Arizona, so definitely gives an impressive view that I'm used to seeing BUT I have been to several different gardens, botanical gardens, etc in different parts of the world and still felt this was impressive - it was built as the Ohme's backyard and was never meant to be a tourist attraction, so I'm not sure if the negative reviews were factoring that in. Also neat fact that the stone pathways were brought in and laid down by hand! We went in June 2022 and it was not crowded at all.

BE PREPARED: Good shoes for tricky footing/steps, umbrella and/or raincoat (Washington weather was tough to predict), I would grab the walking sticks they offer if you occasionally need them, and be sure you dress for a hike! Also, any items you'd like to relax with: good book, headphones, etc

TIME: I would budget 1-2 hours here with two main factors involved: mobility level of you and your group and how much you and your group stops to take photos or enjoy the view. There are SEVERAL spots to sit throughout the garden, had I known I honestly would have budgeted time to bring my book and just sit here for a little bit

MOBILITY LEVEL: This DEFINITELY has tricky footing. We knew nothing about Ohme Gardens when we got there, but it's built into the side of the hill so the pathways are steps (sometimes semi-steep with no railings), uphill/downhill and some paths can be pretty narrow. There are railings in certain areas, but not everywhere. If you cannot go that far there are some spots that can still be an easier walk that would still offer fantastic views, so I would ask at the front or have someone in your group run ahead and see what is negotiable.

BATHROOMS: There are fully functional bathrooms right behind the admissions/gift shop area. These are your only bathrooms throughout the entire gardens, so plan accordingly :-)

KID-FRIENDLY: We saw several families with kids here and it looked like the kids were interacting with the map to find their way around the gardens which was great! Just keep in mind there are some areas where it's an easy misstep into a pond or down the hill, but overall, it's safe to bring kids

GIFT SHOP: It's small but they have unique items! Definitely stop in here. They also had some bottled drinks for sale and a coffee dispenser inside.

NEARBY: We enjoyed going to Pybus Public Market for lunch (there are several options) walking around their cute shops (olive oil shop, gelato, sandwiches, pizza, Mexican food and more). Leavenworth is about 30 minutes away and their Reindeer Farm and seeing this cute Bavarian town is a MUST do!

I live in Western Washington and am use to lots of different varieties of vegetation, I did not see that here in this garden. This garden is full of Vinca Minor utilized as ground cover, nothing unusual about that!! I have it in my garden. The views of the Columbia Valley are beautiful,!! However, be real careful walking on the stone pathways. They are uneven and have potential to be a dangerous trip hazard. My husband and I visited in October, me thinks spring could be a better opportunity to see their gardens.

This place is a hidden gem! Absolutely a must see destination! We have driven by the sign for years and never knew what it was. You are transported to a magical garden full of beauty and peace. The work that it took to build this place is unbelievable. We will be going back for sure year after year.

We stopped here and were kinda disappointed. Was not very impressed. Ok little walk on old rock path. Ponds were ok to look at, but was crowded and not very eventful.

A beautiful huge garden on a mountain in the city. Not far away, budget friendly, the home and dairy hunt were amazing. I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Nice views of the river valley and plenty of shade. It was an interesting contrast to Leavenworth as you are on the edge of desert-like areas here.

We didn't really see any flowers (late July) but there were various water features (ponds, water falls, etc...) and other displays to spruce up the garden.

Note that this is not for mobility-challenged people. The experience mainly comprises of walking up and down trails and many stairs created from flat stones. They have free walking sticks you can borrow. Little kids didn't seem to have any problem, but the elderly might.

We spent a little over an hour touring the gardens as a stop on a weekend trip to Leavenworth. I'm so glad we made this stop!

I hadn't heard of the Ohme Gardens before, but the Ohmes created them beginning in 1929. They really crafted a beautiful oasis on the side of a hill in Wenatchee. There are various different water features. The Sylvan Pool was my favorite. This was a peaceful, shaded area with a rock pool where one could sit and while away the hours.

It is absolutely amazing that so much of the gardens were built by hand with limited modern machinery. It was clearly a labor of love and great that it's open to the public to tour.
