Breathtaking and Gorgeous View of Columbia River From Up High
Jun 2021 • Couples
So gorgeous. You must stop and take in the view. It’s not far from Vancouver WA, and so worth it because it’s also a beautiful drive amongst the trees.

Beautiful lookout

Definitely worth pulling over to take in the scenery on this gorgeous gorge drive. Won’t take longer than a few minutes to get a good shot and continue on.

Amazing I love it. This is one of the best looks outs I have seen. This place is on the top ten most beautiful places in the world for like 2017 or 2018.

Never disappoints!

We come here often, but this is the first time I've been here late in the fall (29Nov). The view is as beautiful as always, but the wind can be fierce. Be sure to bundle up so the wind chill doesn't get you--you'll want to enjoy the views!

Beautiful Gorge View
Sep 2019 • Solo
I stop here from time to time on my way home. There's a very nice view of the Columbia River Gorge. More so to the east than the west. And, if you look down and to the east there's a big, beautiful pasture area that's incredibly picturesque.

I wouldn't call this a destination but it's a very nice spot to stop as you're passing through.

Great hike
Jul 2019
Hike is a great loop hike with varied terrain, great look outs and a small waterfall you can walk in to cool yourself off.

Favorite Hike
Aug 2018 • Solo
This hike is one of my favorites. Get there easily because parking is free and locals know what a gem it is. It is a bit steep in the beginning but you are rewarded about a mile up with a good view. Then you head back into the woods which eventually wind you up to a road (a place you can park if you don't want to hike far) and back down to the lookout. I love packing a snack and eating it at the Nancy Russell Lookout. After falcon beating season is over, the rest I'd the trail is opened and you cam do am amazing 7 mile loop. I highly recommend it if you're fit enough. There are also various parking spaces to access different points on the trail if you don't want to do the whole thing.

Awesome view
Apr 2019 • Friends
A great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Columbia River Gorge. It's a popular hike so you'll see a lot of people on the trail especially on the weekends. If you want to get to the lookout without the long hike you can park Upper Trailhead at Strunk Road and have a shorter and not so steep a hike. However in general it's not a "hard" hike but I would definitely say a good moderate hike. Pay attention to the loose stones and roots on the path.
