Perfect entrance to the Columbia Dike Trail. Easy walk with lots of folks and dogs out on the trail.

Lovely hike or bike along the dike, dogs allowed on leash. Some nice little beaches to cool your toes or go for a swim. And it's connected to Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge. This was our "go to" hike in Washougal

Lots of beautiful sandy beach and shallow water to play in! The perfect day trip if you don't want to drive all the way to the coast! There are even bathrooms and showers to use!

Right now, it's kind of flooded still, so the connecting trail along the water is pretty flooded out. The trail from the parking lot heading toward the nature reserve is 10-12 feet wide, so cars could potentially drive on the trail. It's mostly dirt and small gravel, so it might be more fun to ride a mountain bike or fat tire bike on if you wanted a long flat trail.

There's a lot of nice birds and ducks and geese down toward the water. We drove 17 miles from Vancouver to get here and well, it's nice, but I wouldn't drive 17 miles to get here ever again. Maybe if we wanted to go trail riding on a bikes and wanted a long flat terrain (like with kids).

On a hot day, there's patches of shade, and long spots along the way that you'll get direct sunlight.

If you wanted to have a picnic by the river, this could be a good spot for that, and a place to have the kids play, the little parks by the river are nice. I think there are a lot nicer places around town to visit.

Nice Columbia River Beach beach.

Watch for broken glass and thieves. We walked 50 feet past our beech blanket and our backpack containing, $400 prescription glasses, binoculars, house and car keys was gone. Re-keying our home and car cost us $1,200. It took 4 hours for AAA to arrive, open our car and to replace ignition key unit. (We fully endorse AAA and have been long time HAPPY AAA Members.)

This is a great Park that offers a hike along the river plus a detour down to Cottonwood Beach with great picnic tables with grills. Dogs are allowed on leash and horses are allowed along the dike path that runs along the river. One of the best parks in this part of Washington. It's graveled and straight so not too strenuous for hikers, strollers or bicycles.

We thought we were just going for a walk on a promenade and found a whole river beach and animal refuge after a short walk on a trail. Clean, great bathrooms, picnic tables and a wonderful sandy beach!

Beautiful and quiet. Great for all ages. We had fun seeing nature and playing close to the water. Totally appreciate the ramp in addition to the stairs.

With a beach leading to the Columbia river, a several-mile dike for running, walking, bicycling, or horseback riding, historical notes in several places, and tons of natural beauty, it's a great place. In summer, watch boats come up to the shore and disgorge swimmers, BBQers, etc. Family-oriented. No services other than bathrooms, but you won't need anything else.
