Beautiful walk

Perfect entrance to the Columbia Dike Trail. Easy walk with lots of folks and dogs out on the trail.

Beautiful park, especially if you're a geocacher

This is a beautiful park. Great trails, scenery and places to sit and take in the PNW. Of course this was a November day and it's probably chaotic in the summer but it was a beautiful outing.

Very good place for an easy, beautiful stroll or longer hike. Swimming beach is good too even though all we did was look at it.

Party

This was a great space for a kid's birthday party. The beach was great and then we moved up to one of the structures (you need reservations). The BBQ was larger than we needed for 40... and there was a power plug (long extension cord) for the music and bouncy house.

A visit from Lewis and Clark
Aug 2018 • Couples
The Captain William Clark was on the helm. He came with his crew on November 2, 1805.

There were lots of historical events displayed, especially about Lewis and Clark.

The first we saw was a canoe, a semi-shelter and big rocks. There was information about Lewis & Clark.

We found another canoe near the beach.

Lewis was amazed about the abundance of birds here.

We hiked mostly and read any historical event. We had some nice views, especially the lake.

This was also a dike.

Worthwhile to see!

P.S. There is a lot of parking

Nice Breezy Walk
Jan 2019 • Friends
I liked the view of the Columbia and Mt. Hood. I liked the rest platforms with information plaques. I’m glad we were walking and not biking because it’s a gravel trail. I did not like the waste disposal area that we had to pass and smell. Wow.

Lovely hike or bike along the dike, dogs allowed on leash. Some nice little beaches to cool your toes or go for a swim. And it's connected to Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge. This was our "go to" hike in Washougal

Wonderful hike
Oct 2017 • Couples
This is a great Park that offers a hike along the river plus a detour down to Cottonwood Beach with great picnic tables with grills. Dogs are allowed on leash and horses are allowed along the dike path that runs along the river. One of the best parks in this part of Washington. It's graveled and straight so not too strenuous for hikers, strollers or bicycles.

Great surprise!

We thought we were just going for a walk on a promenade and found a whole river beach and animal refuge after a short walk on a trail. Clean, great bathrooms, picnic tables and a wonderful sandy beach!
