Shared Sunset Cruise on Puget Sound

15 reviews
This cruise takes you through the heart of Puget Sound. It is the only public sunset cruise on Puget Sound with this extended duration and distance traveled, nearly 30 miles, round trip. Our cruise is available to individual travelers rather than groups only. Our vessel, "RIVIERA" is a restored, US Coast Guard certified, classic Northwest built charter boat. She and her captain and crew are steeped in Puget Sound legacy and experience. This smooth-water cruise takes us under two major suspension bridges; twice! Wildlife ranges from seagulls to Bald Eagles, seals and sea lions. Can't miss Mt. Rainier for hours and the Olympic Mountain range unimpeded except for some clouds. You can bring-your-own snacks and drinks. This is an interactive trip where we candidly and casually interpret our surroundings, There is plenty of time on this cruise where you are left to enjoy the cruise without interruption. We will talk with you and answer your questions along the way.

Tacoma Cabana is the perfect place to fantasize about the sun. All the rum that your pirate's booty can buy!! Jason know his stuff and if you can't find your rum pleasure (or pain) he will concoct a potion for you. Food is tasty and fun, but it's definitely the drinks and decor that you go for.

As a seeker of well made cocktails and a lover of the Tiki Bar aesthetic - I recommend Tacoma Cabana for well researched and deftly made tropical cocktails. The Zombie here is one of the better iterations I've come across. However, I do not recommend the food very highly. It is pricey and not solid Hawaiian fare. If you want good Hawaiian food in Tacoma, go to Da Tiki Hut. Something to snack on...yes. A destination for a pu pu platter? Not so much. Week days are better than weekends if you want a quiet visit. Tacoma Cabana is at the center of a bunch of clubs/restos this side of Pacific Avenue. If you're looking for mindless, young 20-somethings shenanigans, this is your area of town. More mature folks may wish to skip on Fri and Sat nights.

Rum and Rhum of all ages and styles and from all corners of the cane-growing world, Pu Pu Platters and Jerk Chicken and samples of food from the same locations, even a helping of Spam, all in an atmosphere of fun beach Tiki island décor. Any rum drink you want served any style is the offering. The bartender has won best bartender in Washington State, the background music is pure '60's retro music with an island beat. It adds up to lots of fun, good food, and a packed house on weekends. Its a good place for a first date so you can talk about all that is going on around you and have lots of laughs. It is small, so get there early when they open.

What can I say about this place? Rum bar, hand made cocktails, great service, decent chow and a fun atmosphere. I cannot drive through Tacoma without having some sort of Pavlovian reaction and craving for a Drunken Helmsman.....go. Just go.....
