Pretty everywhere! Nice drive for seeing what the area has to offer. It's short, and you can circle it repeatedly.

This is such a great place to explore on foot. There are many interconnected trails so it's easy to get lost, but that's half of the fun. Because the park is on a penninsula with a road along the perimeter, you can always find your...More

This was a great stop. The whole 5mi drive had lookout points to see the Sound. We stopped at each spot and wanted to take pictures. Definitely a must see if you are in the area and have about an hour to spare.

5 Mile drive winds around the edge of Point Defiance park, and gives a glorious view of Puget Sound. Some places, on a good day, one is able to view north towards Seattle, west towards Gig Harbor and the bridge. Sunsets and Sunrises on good...More

As a Tacoma resident I visit Point Defiance Park at least a couple times a month and every time the Five Mile Drive is a high point. I especially like the hiking trails that roughly parallel the road. The well signed dark blue loop stays...More

A return to this gorgeous part of Tacoma for a hike and to spend time on Owen Beach. Considering the proximity to large residential parts of Tacoma, it is remarkable how peaceful the Port Defiance trails remain. 3 different trails undulate around the park with...More

Incredibly glorious sites as one drives through the winding trials of this wonder of Gods creation, with over looks, shafts of light piercing through the trees, and majestic trees they are. Well worth driving through at least once if not once a year or more....More

This is well worth visiting when you go to the Point Defiance district. There are nice places to stop off you are driving through the original forest areas.

If you have the opportunity, you really need to drive the 5 mile drive. So many beautiful sights and lots of places to stop for photos. Since it was spring, not a lot of traffic so we could take out time and not feel rushed.

The trails are only for foot traffic. Bicycles are not allowed on the trails themselves, but can be ridden on the road without problem. For more information go to the Metro Parks Tacoma website.
