It was a nice facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food prices were high. The stops need to better marked. I tripped 5 times at the top of the lower stairs.

The reason you go to the Tacoma Dome for a concert is because that's where you have to go. Not because you want to, but you have to. The place is poorly managed; has a severe shortage of parking; is generally dirty; has the worst...More

Love the upgrades! The bathrooms are clean and big and the foot room is great for the seats! Food vendors are fun, great selection of beer, need more wine.

The concert was great, had great seats, only thing that hapenned to us was we had to park in the Le May car museum lot, and they locked it before the concert was over. So, we had to wait about 2 hours to get out....More

One of Tacoma's best investments, it's a decent facility, with extensive use. About as lucrative as was Pierce Transit, before the Sound Transit hijacking.

Wow,only skinny bottoms allowed!! Totally uncomfortable seats, knees pressed into back of seat in front of us. If you're over 5 foot 6 inches, forget it.

The sound was decent and our view of the show was excellent, the seats are quite tight though. Unless you’re a petite person, I think you’ll find the seats uncomfortable. Although I had a nice time at this show, I don't plan on going to...More

I'm sorry to say, I don't know. I suspect the security varies with the event, i.e. Billy Graham, versus, Shania Twain.

Street parking. I parked on the other side of the highway in a residential area-a quick walk and there were other people parking there as well so we walked together.

Tacoma to Vancouver BC (3 Replies)
We'll be in Tacoma for a convention July 23-30. We are booked on Amtrak from Tacoma to Vancouver BC on Aug.1. I think this means we board a Casades train (from station near Tacoma Dome ?), to Seattle. Then leave train at Seattle King St. station. Next board a bus (also at King St. station?) which will take us to Vancouver BC (Pacific Central station?). Can anyone verify if this is correct? Thank you for any help or details you can offer.

I will be driving up from Portland to see Garth Brooks Sunday evening at the Tacoma Dome. What would be my best options for leaving town as easy as possible. Would parking elsewhere and taking the light rail be a good option, and if so, where should I park?

Hahahahaha! Please, please, please, park at the Dome. There are some garages downtown with limited capacity for parking, but the Tacoma Link stops running at 10 pm on weekdays, 5:48 pm on Sundays. There are buses, but.... good luck with those. Pierce County can't seem to fund a transit levy, so buses are sparse. Parking at the Dome will be exactly what you expect for a massive concert event. I don't think that there are good alternatives elsewhere, though, without a lot of walking, which...More

Parking near the Tacoma Dome (5 Replies)
Greetings, I'm heading to a concert at the Tacoma Dome next week. We've got a hotel in Auburn -- the wife wants to be close to the Supermall...help me please -- but my question is about parking at the Tacoma Dome. I understand I may be robbed $25 to park at the dome, so, having never been to Tacoma, I'm wondering if there are good *free* parking options nearby? Thanks.

Yes, there is street parking, but it fills quickly. When we go to the TDome, we try to park on the north side, there is a street that goes up a hill over the freeway, with street parking. Looking at a map, I think it is E 26th, but it'll be pretty obvious. By the way, I assume because you mention the Supermall you have been there before, but in case you have not, know that many years ago, the Supermall opened to great fanfare, was designed to be a strong destination bargain/outlet shopping...More
