Spokane's South Hill area is an older part of Spokane. Therefore you will find large older homes with amazing architecture and design. Along with that you will see old well-established trees (mostly maple) that afford lots of shade and beautiful autumn colors when the leaves change color. Manito Park is the jewel of the South Hill. Be sure to stop... More

The South Hill of Spokane used to be the "nice area" to live back in the 80s and has continued to decline since then. There are some great parks still like Manito Park, or cool views from High Drive, but mostly it is just a large residential area in various stages of decline. Some nice restaurants are located in Lincoln... More

The South Hill of Spokane is a beautiful area. The highlight of the area is Manito Park which was designed by the Olmsted Brothers who also designed Central Park in New York. There are lots of old homes to look at as you drive or walk by.

If you have any free time you will want to go to Manito Park on the South Hill off Grand Blvd. The park has beautiful grounds, Japanese Gardens, Duncan Gardens (beautiful rose and flower gardens) a large wonderful pond and great areas for walking, picnics, family gatherings, etc. In the winter there is a sledding hill or two. The homes... More

This location in Spokane features higher end homes from past to present. Nice parks and modern strip malls.

Made by the same man who designed Central Park New York; Manito Park is a world class destination. Play areas for kids, duck ponds, a huge rose garden, a lilac garden, a stunning enclosed Japanese garden, an arboretum and so much more.

I live on the South Hill... it's just a part of town. Some nice parks are in the area - but they are already listed as their own attractions - and I guess you can drive around and look at the mansions or whatever, but this is NOT like a historic district with lots of old shops and buildings to... The South Hill is a historic part of Spokane, with great houses and wonderful gardens. The Japanese gardens are just beautiful. I love the city and definitely would return when I have the opportunity.
