The fields and horizon choices are very pretty and worth going off the highway (directions and details below)! It's so spectacular, we saw a wedding party (who included sunflowers in their bouquets) pull up for a photo shoot. You will need to pull off of...More

We drove this road the 45 miles from Spokane to Chewelah on a fine Spring Monday morning. Their was virtually no traffic, and the scenery improved the further North we drove. The stretch around Loon Lake had a nice mix of water, trees, mountains, and...More

I drove from Spokane to north of Kettle Falls yesterday. The highway is kept in good condition but there are very few passing lanes. If you get behind a slow moving vehicle, you are stuck. When going through the Deer Park area, one should slow...More

This might have been rated higher but I had just finished trips from the PCH and the 101 and you can’ really beat that. It was okay, there were no major obstacles, but it is just a road and one we needed to take.

Spend the morning just driving north from Spokane, WA to see what on the route. Better than typical highway with snow mountain view and multiple lakes, large area of forest. However, it's still a Highway Route, not something worth planing to experience.

Along with the 99 this road was the original western border to border road. Starts out at the Mexican border and terminates at the Canadian border. Most of the road in SoCal is overlaid with the I-15. There are older portions that are still drivable...More
