As I was finishing a morning bike ride on the Centennial Trail, I saw workers setting up equipment for this rental location under the Division Street Bridge. It was a very hot day in Spokane (96 degrees), so renting a Stand Up Paddleboard seemed like a great way to spend the late afternoon. I have kayaked and surfed before, but never done SUP, so I decided to give it a try. I booked online and did the evening special (4-7pm). Staff was very nice and helpful in getting me set up. Spend your time/energy paddling up river as far as your arms/energy allow and then take it slow on the way back letting the river current move you along. As it was so hot, I was happier kneeling/sitting so that I could constantly stick my legs/feet in the cool water. If you've kayaked before, SUP is highly similar, with the bonus that you can change your body position much easier than you can in a kayak (you can lie on your stomach or back!)

I went on this outing with a little bit of trepidation. I am a chubby girl and I am not real physical. BUT Once I was able to get myself up and found my balance, Watch Out! This was so peaceful and quiet in spots. I came away with a sense of accomplishment and the great feeling of having had a LOT of fun. With only a few small bruises...haha. This would be a great thing for couples and families of all ages.

If you're a fan of Stand Up Paddleboard - this is for you! Last summer, Spokane opened up a SUP and kayak launch from downtown near our Convention Center. Fun Unlimited got the concession for providing SUP rentals. The owners are nice, the boards are reasonably priced, and the online reservation system is great! The route that the river takes is calm and peaceful - there is no motorized boat traffic allowed in this area. The river at this point meanders into the Gonzaga campus and under the Kardong Bridge. Wildlife you might see will include marmots, geese, ducks and an occasional heron. Enjoy!

If your are trying to book one of their equipments and it says "Call to book" save your time. I have been trying to call this company all week with absolutely no answer. I have left voicemails with a callback number, still nothing. I have emailed and what do you know, nothing. I would strongly suggest finding a different company to work with for their is a lot of them in the area these days. Save your time and money because this company does not really care about customer service or taking the time to merely pick up, call back or respond to any emails.

So this is in Post Falls location but I think you basically get the same thing.... We rented a SUP for 2 hours and it was a perfect way to enjoy it. We didn’t have to transport it. It’s in the water already and we just showed up and paddling in no time. At Post Falls location, no wake zone is protecting you so if you want to stay in safe zone, you can. If you’re adventurous, you can go the other way and get out of no wake zone in a minute...
At Post Falls location, they also rent boats and jet skis. We did the 2 hour special 10-12 for $90 plus gas (about $20-30) depends on the use. Again great for first time on it and find out how much fun it is..
If you’re comfortable on SUP and think you won’t fall into the water, you can easily access this place from the downtown of Spokane. Walk on a waterfront pathway in downtown to the division bridge. Under the bridge, they have a booth and you’re on your way.

We had so much fun! 2 paddle boards, from 4-7, for about $45, due to the late hour. It was beautiful, flattest water this California girl has ever experienced. Board isn't the same as mine at home, but hey, an afternoon on the water can't be beat. Loved it!
