We were fortunate to see rehearsals for the upcoming original musical based on the Christmas Carol featuring historical figures from Port Townsend's colorful past. The play is well researched to provide a real flavor of the town and to provide historical framework. The writing, composition, acting, direction, and staging are all top notch with a dedicated troupe. This is a... More

It's a charming little theater tucked in the building behind Soak on the Sound. It's charming and not only hosts theater for the season but also ais a venue for the Port Townsend Film Festival.

The Key City Public Theatre is small. The stage will not accommodate a large production and the audience seats precisely 66 patrons. Dedicated and enthusiastic dramatists produce quality local theatre on this stage, at a reasonable price, to the delight of faithful local fans, many of whom buy season tickets. The website allows visitors (such as us) to secure tickets... More

For a small town, Port Townsend has an impressive number of artists--from visual and musical to performing arts. The playhouse is rather stuffy inside, but it is intimate and the staging is inventive. Both local and visiting actors perform with heart and vigor!

We saw the Christmas pantomime production of "Cinderella". The show had sold out every performance and we were lucky to get seats. What a treat - the cast was superb and the sets and costuming was wonderful. The ensemble (dressed in Victorian costume) who sang old Christmas songs in front of the curtain during set changes were very talented and... More

I have gone to the Key City Public Theatre for years, and have always left thoroughly entertained. This weekend I saw a production of Homer's Odyssey. It was contemporary, humorous, and great fun. The theatre also offers cocktails, beer, wine and some light snacks. The theatre is very small, and can feel a bit claustrophobic when the air gets stuffy.... More

I have enjoyed every production presented by this theater especially the ones directed by Denise Winters. Be sure to get your tickets early because they sell out almost every performance!!

Key City is a fine theatre with all kinds of plays. Key City also does Shakespeare in Chetzumoka Park. Exquisit.

KCPT is a Port Townsend treasure. We have seen theatre productions all over the country, including New York City, and KCPT can hold its own. The most you pay for tickets is $20, and there are discounted matinees and "pay as you wish" performances to keep theatre accessible. In summer, KCPT performs Shakespeare in the Park, and there are numerous... More

Don't miss this one. We laughed until we had tears running down our faces. You get a history of the world in about 90 minutes. Two talented actors and an exceptionally gifted pianist bring the history of the world out of the history books. Am going to go again. It's fast paced and if you blink you miss something. Go...
