Unbelievable trails for walking or biking (mountain). We showed up after the Ranger had left, but you could pick a spot and envelope pay. The RV spots are limited and they were so so. But the drive in (21' and under) spots were awesome! We felt like we were in the forest.

I was taken as a guest to the site of this old Fort, which is now gone. There is a lovely road that leads down to Puget Sound so that you can be along the water where there are picnic tables. But the most outstanding part of the trip was to just wander in the forest! This time at dusk... More

Even on a cold winters day, a pleasure to walk through, peace and quiet and frosty. Wonderful! Nice trails well marked with history all around the area and good wildlife too.

On our way out of Port Townsend, we stopped at Fort Townsend for a hike. It was delightful to get into the virgin woods and discover we were the ONLY people on the trails. Beautiful day, cool in the woods, incredible views when we came to a break in the forest and looked out over the bay to Mt. Baker.

My Great-Great-Grandfather was stationed at the Fort (in fact he helped build it) in 1855. Was a thrill to stand where he once stood.

Nice drive through. Places to camp, pretty views of large trees, green ferns! Acess to boat ramp. Walking areas, picnic areas. Nice place for families to gather for a picnic!

Pt Townsend State Park has a tremendous variety of offerings from sandy beaches, lighthouse, wooded campsites, unique accommodations, historical barracks and bunkers, and greenspace for rest, relaxation, and large group gatherings.

I liked this state park a lot. it's located on the other side of the Bay of PT, has well-groomed lawns for picnickers, volleyball; a campground in what looks an old-growth forest and a nice forest path to the beach. If you are lucky to come at low tide you can scavenge and explore the beach for miles without meeting... More

I love anything and EVERYTHING about Port Townsend Including all the great parks and 'beaches'. This park is just outside of PT and it's a great spot for an impromptu picnic on a sunny day. Probably not my FAVORITE Park in the PT area, but it is nice with some beach access. It's worth checking out

This is a lovely and quiet state park. It is off the beaten trail. The had a lovely path down to a rocky shore. The staff was super nice. No hook ups for RVs, but flush toilets and a nice trail.
