A historic cinema in downtown Port Townsend, with the best in current film, cult flicks and classics. The auditorium and facade feature gorgeous details from the Rose's day as a vaudeville house, dating back to 1907. With delicious popcorn, plus beer and wine and and a beautiful collection of film photos, the Rose is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Like no other small town theatre you've seen. Worth a visit even if you're not going to a movie!

The snack bar is reasonable and we were surprised at the sound system. It was clear and the seats definitely were a plus. It is a small to modeate place but just enjoyable for a group if you so desire. The folks that sell tickets are courteous and friendly. I will definitely go back. Snacks are varied and even offered... More

Such a wonderful venue to enjoy taking in a movie. The staff is super friendly and helpful. After learning about the venue options, we made a point to go to the Starlight Room, find a cozy chair (played musical chairs to find just the right one), and settle in with some delicious food to enjoy the movie which had been... This is a very quaint theater right in the middle of downtown Port Townsend. As you wall in the smells of 100 years of popping popcorn wafts on the air. The popcorn is fresh popped, not bagged and you can get it half filled so you can put your own condiments and butter on it. Then they will fill it... More

The Rose Theatre has a separate theater above it, the Starlight Room. Relax and settle into your overstuffed vintage sofa or arm chairs in what could've be a former small ballroom complete with chandeliers, The two story black velvet drapes are closed, the screen rolls down, lights lowered and the film starts. 21 and over only. Meals and drinks of... More

Welcome to The Rose, an intimate movie theater in Port Townsend with the best popcorn and the most polite vendors, not to say ,an excellent delivery of first rate films. A great time at The Rose.

The Rose is the Real Deal; a theatre from the earliest days of Port Townsend. Restored in the 1990's, it has true "art house" cinema and the best popcorn flavor possibilities around. Small, charming, intimate and delightful; be sure to catch a movie here if you're passing through. A local tradition and treasure.

Great movie selections in a completely restored former vaudeville theatre. Three screens with movies chosen by the very knowledgeable owner. Upstairs in the Starlight room, sit on couches or stuffed chairs, have a beer or a glass of wine, and relax in an intimate setting. Downstairs, two more screens with different choices. On weekends, often there are live simulcasts of... More

We happened by and decided to stop in for a movie. We had no idea walking up flights of stairs what was ahead. It was an awesome surprise. Full bar and menu from the restaurant below. One more turn and we found couches and antique chairs, coffee tables, bowls of popcorn and open windows. Soon a woman dropped the blackout... More
