Great place to explore for both non history buffs and history buffs alike. I can't image anybody of all ages not having a great time exploring the bunkers.

This is one of my favorite places to roam... Hiking through the trails you will come across many wonderful surprises to explore. Won't tell you what they are and ruin the surprise! Put on your explorer hat, a child like curiosity and get lost in the adventure! Beaches, trails, bunkers, tours, music festivals, yoga, dance, kayak, kitesurfing, gardens, historic lodging...... Wow, what a disappointment this place has become. I used to come even year, but hadn't been for the past few years and what a bummer. The views are truly beautiful, but you can't even park anywhere for even a quick stop without warning signs everywhere. You now need to have a parking sticker to even stop for a moment.... More

This is a great old coast artillery fort. Much of it now houses a small college. The artillery positions require some walking but nothing strenuous. The buildings are fully restored and there is a museum. The movie "An Officer and A Gentlemen" was filmed here and the museum will give you a handout that allows you to visit where key... More

Over 400 acres of land and wonderful buildings can still be found here - you can walk for hours and tour museums, historic buildings or simply enjoy the beach and beauty of the setting Come often - lots of programs here open to public as well Good to buy the Discovery Pass

The grounds themselves are expansive, even if there isn't a ton to do. The immersion you get driving around the old buildings is lovely and worth a visit alone. The beach access is large and very pretty, especially enjoyable if you wear a wind breaker of good rain coat. The museum is quaint and covers a variety of topics. The... More

Went with some girlfriends and was surprised at how big this place is. Great place to sit by the water - although windy the day we were there. Lots of history.

A really cool place to visit. We'll worth any short drive and a nice walk around. Very historical and the guy in the gift shop is great. We ate lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the daily special. Great deal for the price.
