You can make this hike a loop, or an out and back - 1.9mi vs 1.2 respectively. Spend some time on the beach exploring the tide pools, driftwood, and multicolored pebbles worn smooth by centuries of tides. We went on a cold, windy, gray day...More

Take your lunch on your walk down a shaded path through a forest to an unobstructed view of a beautiful harbor and sound at which there are picnic tables! Worth a 30 minute ride from EastSound to solitude - not crowded.

The main hiking path -- the one that goes directly to the beach and campsites -- is only about 0.9 mi to the beach. There's plenty of trees and so the hike is shaded the entire length. We ate our lunch on some logs just...More

This was a welcome relief after being in the crowded campground of Moran State Park (beautiful, but crowded). This beach is reached by hiking about a mile (maybe a little more) from the parking lot to the beach. Once we got there, there were just...More

We enjoyed driving all over Orcas, constantly pulling over to take photographs. Our drive here was just one of the many that we so enjoyed.
