Rain or shine, this is a great place for a stroll

This park is a little jewel in the middle of the city and seems lightyears away from its fetid cousin a few blocks away, Sylvester Park. Walkers, joggers, cyclists and those who... read more

Had a wonderful day just walking around the lake and taking the pathway up to see the State Capitol. It was beautiful with great views all around. Very clean park, not too crowded, plenty of room to sit for a picnic or run or walk or simply sit. Nice to park for free for up to two hours, However if... More

Nice walking trail around Capital Lake. Great for a 30 to 45 minute walk after a day of meetings indoors.

Marathon Park is a small park offering a swath of grass - good for sitting in the sun when it comes out around here and a parking lot. What is best about this park is that it is a good place to start your walk around Capitol Lake. The walk around is between 1 1/2 and 2 miles and it... More

I like to run here. Nice gravel area and paved the rest of the way. I steer clear of this area after dark there are homeless encampments under the bridge on 5th.

You can walk from this park around Capitol Lake, viewing the state capital building, city center, and across the lake views. Plenty of parking.

Truthfully, I found out about this park first from the area's local author Andras Jones - in his book 'Accidental Initiations'. I have taken a few walks around the tree now and all I can say is it is invigorating, gorgeous, and magical. Highly recommended.

This park is a little jewel in the middle of the city and seems lightyears away from its fetid cousin a few blocks away, Sylvester Park. Walkers, joggers, cyclists and those who enjoy people watching come here to clear their minds, exercise their bodies or both. Even on cold or rainy day you can find the diehard runners and walkers... Got up early before dawn to run around Marathon park. It was stunning! You can easily make a circle run or walk around the lake using paths, some of which are gravel and easy on the knees. It felt safe, particularly after seven a.m. once there were other walkers and runners. The wetlands are also a great space for birds... More

It is so nice to be able to jog through a park and not have to dodge homelss/druggies the whole time. Thank you Olympia! Love that I can follow the trails down into Trumwater park. Really neat!

The lake is closed and looks like a swamp but the walking path and view of the Capitol made it worth stopping by. There is a clean bathroom by the parking lot. You can also see the Capitol dome from here. Something to do if visiting Olympia for the first time.
