This is a spectacular building and piece of American and western history. We were so delightfully surprised by the informative, free tour. It's an architectural gem with gorgeous grounds and gardens, inlays, marbles and even an enormous (size of VW bug) Tiffany lamp in the...More

One cannot visit Olympia without driving past, or experiencing the Capitol. The grounds contain many a memorial and visual candy, in addition to the historical architecture. The fountain is a "splash" on sunny days.

Most are pretty Utilitarian except the Legislative Building which houses the Governors office and the House and Senate. Architcture of the 1920's, plain but massive and distinctive. Equally or more interesting is the Temple of Justice across the street. This is the home of the...More

Toured the Capital building with a group and enjoyed the tour guides and their history, talk and knowledge. We just happened to arrive when they were having the graduation for the State Patrol Cadets. Was impressed with the pomp and drills. We even had a...More

The Capital is great for events, such as memorial day, veterans day, and pride. But, less welcoming on an average day for teens

Yes, there are elevators! And for going into the building, I think you can go through the gift shop. Sorry for getting back to you late!
