I had a hard time choosing a rating rank for this one. I've lived here for a long time, and this, in my opinion, has always felt like the heart of Olympia. It's a beautiful setting, and a great way to spend the day - or it used to be.

It has a play area for kids, and a lawn for enjoying the day. It has beautiful views, and is close to shops downtown, and the fountain, and Capitol Lake. But it has become absolutely INFESTED with druggies and aggressive panhandlers!! If you go there with your kids, keep an eye on them. Be prepared to be asked for money or a cigarette, and be prepared to see drug use and drug addicts.

Olympia needs to get a handle on the drug/vagrant problem. They are killing this beautiful area of Thurston County by allowing it to be overrun with drugs and bums.

Start at the 4th Avenue Bridge and wind your way to the viewing tower at the Port of Olympia stopping along the way to view art and have a cool drink and food in many lovely places along the way. The best walk in town.

When people come to Olympia they usually visit and take photos of the state capitol grounds and buildings. Percival Landing is a great place to relax and take a walk along the water. Be sure and stop at the Richard Beyer statue of the Kissing Couple at the end of the boardwalk on 4th Avenue and take a photo.

There are a lot of activities at Percival landing. Most of these are great.

The main concern to watch out for is I have run into unstable people at times. I understand a lot of that can be a person off their meds. But, that doesn't stop my fear of someone going off on one of my kids.

This is a pleasant & generally uncrowded place to walk along the waterfront with sculptures, children's play areas, views of the Capitol one way, the Olympics the other; shops, restaurants nearby; lots of boats to look at. During special events, like the Wooden Boat Show and Harbor Days, it's lively & more crowds but not unbearable.

This was a great place to walk with my dogs! We loved walking on the boardwalk and looking at the boats and various sculptures that are placed around the area! Plenty of eateries and coffee shops along the way and nearby to grab a meal or drink!

This is Olympia's grandest point. It connects the Capitol, the lake, the kid's fountain, Puget Sound and some nice local restaurants. Parking can be challenging but usually can be found somewhere along the line. If you just to the boardwalk, you only need a 1/2 hour. If you start at the Capitol and go as far as Anthony's Restaurant, you will need over an hour each way with the stops you will make along the way.

I’ve lived in Olympia my entire life and Percival Landing is by far one of my favorite pass-time places to walk around. I love to get a warm coffee from a local shop in the fall, or an ice cream in the summer and take a nice walk, look at the boats, have a picnic, take photos and go to the lookout tower. There’s also a playground if you have kids! I’ve shared this experience with many friends who have visited from out of town. It will always be one of my favorite places in Olympia.

Beautiful waterside park. Unfortunately there are usually homeless people hanging around the restrooms right next to the playground, but we’ve never had any trouble with anyone.

Most maritime towns have a waterfront walk. In Olympia's case it's the old docks, somewhat refurbished, but it's still the center of action of some water-oriented events like the annual wooden boat show. There are a selection of restaurants and other amenities, like the seafood market and the wine shop and the farmer's market, in the immediate vicinity. Great spot for a sunset stroll.
