absolutely fresh seafood in lovely setting overlooking Buck's Bah. The halibut fish and chips was great-fresh halibut, crispy batter, great fries, I had the "Island roll" (halibut, shrimp and scallop). The dining setting is on a grassy lawn with mature willow trees providing great shade. Very nice staff. Perfect!

We shared the substantial fresh fish cake and fries for a late lunch. Very friendly crew. Ate outside with a view over Buck Bay. Then Toni brought out a freebie dish of deep-fried pickles which was an experimental dish. Very thoughtful.

Loved their crab and shrimp and overall experience! Spent around $300 on four full crabs, two orders of large shrimp, one Caesar salad with anchovies, an order of french fries and a few tasty beers. Seemed a bit spendy, but was so worth it. Staff were nice, friendly, but also busy from being short staffed. They all rocked it though considering.
Oysters were limited and appeared a little bit full for my liking, so I passed on them.

If you are on Orca Island you MUST go to Buck Bay Shellfish (Restaurant). Very basic but ALL the seafood is INCREDIBLE...we went twice!! Oysters right out of the Bay in front. Very nice people. All outdoor eating. Don't miss it!!!!

There are a couple of oyster farms on San Juan and Orcas and we LOVE Buck Bay. Wescott Bay on San Juan is fun because you can drive your boat right up to the restaurant and it’s equally scenic, but we prefer the smaller oysters at Buck Bay. And a delicious house-made peach vinaigrette. Delicious local beers too.

Visited here and decided to grab the oysters, clams, and fish and chips. Oysters were 6 for 16$ vs getting double that if you shuck them yourself at the fish market. I would recommend this over having them pre shucked. Oysters were fresh, fish and chips could have had a little more interesting set up, fries were borderline frozen and then fried. Overall pleasant experience.

This place should be the number one place on everyone’s list of things to see and do when you visit Orcas Island.
The food and bay view are equally impressive. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the Halibut Fish and Chips and the Crab Mac and Cheese are without a doubt the best I’ve ever had. (It could be that the halibut is freshly filleted and the crab is hand cracked each day). I also had the clams which were in a tasty broth and not a bit of sand in any bite! (My friends said that the crab cakes were the best, ever, too, but I couldn’t eat another bite so I’ll save that for next time). There’s plenty of good beer, cider, wine and champagne and lots of outdoor seating.
The oysters and clams are raised in the bay out front and they are the cleanest I’ve ever seen and mighty tasty! I finally ate a raw oyster and I can honesty say I liked it.
Be sure and ask for a little tour when you go and buy your fresh clams and oysters and you’ll be amazed at the process and history of this 3 generation, family owned and operated, Buck Bay oyster and clam farm. And they are dog friendly.

Spent a few days on Orcas and this hidden gem is by far the most amazing fish “shack” you will find. The halibut fish and chips was the freshest and lightest of any we tried. Huge moist white chunks of halibut YUMMM. By the murmurs of others around us they felt the same way. The island roll was super tasty and has a mound of fresh sea delights. Beer was cold and the oysters had a great taste, not too salty and super fresh. I was hesitant to write the raving review because I would hate not to be able to get a table but they certainly deserve the review. Marley and crew were super nice and the food was the best we had on the island.

We stopped by here last weekend after exploring nearby Moran State Park. We were glad we did. The atmosphere is friendly and loved the outdoor seating. We tried the halibut & chips, crab mac 'n cheese, and steamed clams. They were all so delicious after an afternoon of hiking in the park. The halibut and clams were so fresh. My teen boys loved the taste of the fries as well. We also enjoyed tasty bottled root beer with our meal. Only thing I would suggest is to include a salad or another side for the price of the meal. It was higher priced for the portion sizes. The freshness and taste of the food made up for that.

This is one of those places that seem to abound in Europe, but we are woefully short on in America. Scenic, relaxed, welcoming, charming, high quality, etc., etc. A beautiful view of the bay, lots of outdoor tables, you can shuck your own oysters (they'll teach you how!), and enjoy fabluous wine and salads. Menu items were abundant, including dungeness crab mac & cheese. We will be back.

Can I reach you by boat? We will be cruising and have access to a dingy.

The business and guest house is located directly on a shallow bay, Buck Bay. I don't remember seeing a wharf. I would think anchoring out and coming ashore in a dingy should be possible. If you Google "Buck Bay Seafood Photos", you'll see lots of different photos including some where you can see the bay in the photos. Their website (which I can't post per Trip Advisor terms), it also shows photos including one of that shallow bay taken at low tide.
