The legends inside the tower told the story of building this incredible tower so far from civilization
If I knew how to use the new phone's camera, I'd have come home with a panarama view of all of San Juan's Islands. All clearly visible from the tower lookout.

I had no idea that the tall granite tower at Mt Constitution summit used to also operate as a radio broadcasting tower! Now I know all about it, thanks to the excellent Summit Learning Center at Mt Constitution summit. I highly recommend a side trip to the Center while you are at the summit. The volunteers there are happy to share a wealth of knowledge about the summit, Moran State Park, and its hikes. I hiked to the summit, and an awesome volunteer at the Center helped me to plan my return hike that day. Great spot to find out about all the local flora and fauna, as well! Go!…

This new center is aimed at kids, but there is good information here for all ages. Friendly staff, and great posters of the islands from space. Alas, no newts when we were there.

This is a great place to visit with kids if you are in Moran State Park. Lot's of outdoor educational stuff, some interactive things, an opportunity to learn about the area.

Just do it! The view from the top is unique. You can hike or bike to the top, but we drove. Either way, you gain a lot of altitude getting to the top.
