Good luck you will never see this place it is locked down. The process is like getting unemployment assistance.

This is a pack in/ pack out, trek to and back kind of place. We had a great soak. They had 3 temperature pools. It was quiet and relaxing. Just so you know, they have a picnic table a few minutes walk down the spring on the way to the camping area if you want to eat there in stead. It is clothing optional

The location and place in itself is worth five stars, unfortunately the staff's unresponsiveness and the way in which they manage this place is worth no more than two stars. Here are the reasons why:

The website claims that if you leave a phone message you will receive a reply in the order that calls are received. This is rarely the case as leaving multiple messages gets you nowhere.

The calendar shows that most weekends are FULL usually two to three months in advance. There are two issues here: the extremely low fee which allows someone to say "screw it, I am tired, not going to show up today, it's only a few bucks...", and the fact that the calendar displays false information, this relates to the fact I just wrote about. People decide to not show up but the slots remain full thus preventing those who really want to go, to not be able to make a reservation. The staff has been very lazy about correcting this as this problem is months or even years old.

A solution would be to make each reservation $15 or even $20, thus prompting people to actually show up or take the time of their not so busy lifestyles to cancel. I say this because five minutes of your time regardless of how busy you are, is something that even a single parent of three kids can afford to set aside to save his precious 15 or 20 bucks.

Go on their website right now and you will see every single weekend booked many weeks out. I assure you, many of these people WILL NOT show up. When I was there the calendar stated FULL, but only seven people showed up including myself and my partner. That was a total of seven people for several hours while the calendar said FULL.

I sincerely hope that the people in the cabin take some initiative to fix this issue. If it is so difficult for them to call someone back or actually engage with the public via phone, perhaps the organisation should invest on a satellite phone, prices have dropped considerably and connecting it to a computer will allow access to email.

How to fix this:

1. Raise prices to $15 to $25 to prompt reservations to actually be displayed in an accurate and fair manner.

2. Follow thru on what you say you are actually going to do as written on your website: Call people back.

3. Do a better job at updating the calendar - right now you are just throwing fake numbers in there.

It was a worthy of long hike when you soak in the hot springs. The temperature 108 was perfect! Sat at the bench at the deep end of the spring cave was awesome!

I first went to the springs at 10. It was a different place back then. even though it was much simpler back then, it wasn't as clean and controlled. As all things that are enjoyable tend to get over used, as was the case in the early 70's. Now we have clean sustainable wilderness adventures as needed. Goldmyer is in the middle of an amazing Old growth forest and the Pacific crest trail is there. There are many springs in the area. Always something to do. A must go to with the special person in your life. Goldmyer is where great memories are made. Thanks to all responsible Kelly O'Reilly

We came here on a Thursday afternoon and while I don't think the day was booked up, it was close. There's a reason you pay ahead of time because it's not uncommon for people not to show up either because a.) the driving terrain to get in is ROUGH and you have to have a decent raised vehicle and some people don't realize that and have to turn around or b.) don't quite realize it's a 2 hour hike in and realize they are going to be super late and just go back.

After we get to the end and find parking, we hiked about 2 hours in over gentle terrain. Thankfully, it was a slightly misting overcast day so it was perfect for a long hike. There is a bathroom where you park and again when you get to the check-in cabin. From there, it's a good hike up for about 15 minutes to the actual springs. There is a cabana there but it's completely open and not really for changing (though we did so). We also ate lunch in there. The closest bathroom is a couple minutes walk and isn't the most finished location.

While up to 20 people could fit in the springs, around 10 was tops in our book. Perhaps 3 can comfortably fit in the middle bath, perhaps 4-5 in the lower bath and 2-3 in the upper bath. Any more and you'd have to go deeper into the top bath's cave and there was no fresh air and it was like a sauna (which maybe for some people would be fine).

We actually had a great time but the weather was also ideal. If it had been hot, it wouldn't have been as comfortable, though we may have used the natural cold spring more. The view is pretty. They stagger the times people come in so you can't be sure if someone will be there or not when you arrive (unless you booked the whole thing or are the first people in). Because it's such an intimate space, you feel obligated to talk or awkwardly avoid other people.

I think in the end we showed up around 1pm (after hiking since 11am) and left at 5pm so we were driving out a little before 7pm, so it wasn't completely dark for the first 30 minutes of driving.

Goldmyer is remote: only for those that can fend for themselves. I am over 65 and we hiked in from Middle Fork trailhead for a single night. It was a glorious summer day and the walk of 5 miles or 8 kms was a delight as it travels along the river most of the way. The forests are stunning in late summer. No birds though. Another hiker saw a bear but we did not. The Hot Springs have arranged 8 campsites in the conifer forest. Its wild and lovely. Simple too. The spring baths are small -they take about 6-7 in the lower pool and 2 in the middle pool at any one time. The top pool is just too hot though some people managed it for a little spell. all of us were naked and that did not feel awkward at all. You need to book LONG in advance as it is so popular.

Goldmyer is a hidden gem of a hot springs. So much so that I'm hesitant to write this review even.

Tip? Grab your sweetie and book an overnight retreat stat. Summertime is ideal weather-wise. The site is limited to 20 people per day, and reservations are a must.

Flat and easy 4.5-mile hike along Dingford Trail, after a 2.5-hour drive from Seattle (last stretch of road is unpaved and slow going). Bring everything you need, and pack out what you pack in.

And yes, clothing optional. Leave the suit at home, and be one with nature!

[Disclaimer: This is a delayed review; I visited in July 2014 so things may have changed since then.]

My husband and I made a reservation for an overnight on 8/7/15. We read all about the fascinating history of this property and couldn't wait to spend some time there! While waiting for the pilot car to lead us through the construction area on the Middle Fork Road, we met another group that has gone to the Hot Springs once a month for years. They were escorted by "Bill" who has a key to the gate at the Dingford Creek Trailhead. He unlocks the gate for them so they can drive to the property and park less than a 1/4 mile away. We weren't given the option of driving past the gate. My husband and I decided to hike the road up so we could get there early to enjoy the property. Once checked in and camp set up, we decided to go check out the hot springs!!! We hiked up the trail and came upon the group we met earlier. We felt like we had walked in on their private "bath" time. They were all lathered up in soap and were scrubbing away...to the point where the lower pool was milky white from soap. We awkwardly sat in the upper pools which are the warmest of the pools. The next morning, we got up early to go back to the hot springs in hopes of experiencing the lower pools. Too late!! The group was once again already camped out there. This time, instead of soap, they were flossing their teeth and dipping the used floss in the pool. At this point, we were too grossed out to stay. We didn't want to sit in pools where people are doing their "personal grooming". There are a lot of rules associated with this property for the purpose of minimizing the impact and so others can use this beautiful property for years to come. Apparently, these rules do not apply to this family because they've been coming here for years?!? We felt that this property was beautiful and peaceful but probably won't return. Knowing that particular family visits the hot springs so regularly is discouraging because the odds are not in our favor that they wouldn't be there next time! Additionally, they monopolize the lower pools and spend hours at a time there. So your options are the cold pool or the upper hot one. Who knows what other "grooming/personal hygiene" activities are done with no one watching?? I usually don't write negative reviews, but if you are doing the work of hiking in there, you should at least know what to expect.

We had reservation .Also we called ,couple days ahead to make sure all is set .That's very important ,if you want make sure ,you will be allow to access hot spring bath . . Their web site says it ,as it is . The day we visit ,it was middle of September 2013, was grey misty day . Day before our planned hike to hot springs was overnight storm in area ,so it was kind of cold and wet to do any strenuous hike anywhere else in mountains. It was great ,as this hike is very easy walk on forest road ,even its wet and misty day . Caretakers in cabin was very nice and welcoming ,answering all our questions and giving us all information's we already new from our own research on Goldmyers Hot Spring web site . Bath in hot springs was so relaxing . It was not crowded ,just one couple taking soak when we arrived , and they were almost done and leaving . So we had all springs for our self's only for about 10 minutes before group of 3 young hiker girls arrived . Water was crystal clear ,surrounding forest so beautiful and river down the canyon just make our sound absorption pleasurable .... Would certainly come back ,if any chance is given to me in future ....
