- Sarah MDenver, Colorado89 contributionsGreat Lighthouse Park with Excellent InformationThis is a park with a lighthouse and some of the buildings including the Keeper's House (Lighthouse Keeper), nice sculpture, good information including a Mukilteo Walking Tour done by an Eagle Scout. It is right by the Puget Sound and it is possible to take a ferry to Whiskey Sound, in fact we saw two ferries crossing in the midst of the sound. Getting on the ferry can be difficult in the evening or weekends so make sure that you allow yourself plenty of time. The lighthouse was not open when we visited but some have visited and been able to climb up the tower. It is a very peaceful place and there are restrooms available.Written June 3, 2021
- travellinggal1086 contributionsSmall lighthouse in the townThe lighthouse is relatively small and right in the town, not isolated somewhere. It is a nice one and there is a short beach that you can walk. It is right next to a huge parking lot, so plenty of place to park (with a fee). Nice place to visit if you are in the area, but I would not drive there just for this.Traveled as a coupleWritten September 26, 2021
- Kristin P26 contributionsHistorical ParkGreat piece of history here! We loved wondering around this old lighthouse, reading stories of times past, and ringing the old bell. Also, the picnic tables by the beach are a great place for a picnic lunch. The beach area had lots of children enjoying it on a super hot day. This is a great park and we will return!Written July 13, 2021

I have been to the park many times over the years. I have been up into the lighthouse 3-4 times. It is interesting and a great place to take out of town guests. In August there is a Festival in the adjacent parking lot. The Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival is always fun to attend. This year we enjoyed the music, beer garden and fireworks. Also the thunder and lightening show that night.

The park was built in the 1950's there is a small walking trail and 6 large firepits on the beach. There is lots of pay parking.
First lit in 1906, the 38-foot tall Mukilteo Lighthouse is still in operation, helping not just ferries, but all the boats that ply the Salish Sea. The lighthouse and a modern fog signal were automated in 1979, and in 1981, a remote fog sensor was installed.

The lighthouse park is conveniently located in Mukilteo with plenty of parking and is extremely well maintained. There are markers along the path describing different things about the lighthouse, the park & the area. The weather was not conducive to much of a walk but the scenery is beautiful

We go there so very often, and enjoy it every single time, during the day, or at night.
You can now to all the way from the "wedding circle" at the end of the paved trail to Edgewater Park in Everett. Yes, there is construction but it's amazing how fast they are building the new terminal. There is a gift shop at the lighthouse, open April to September. Parking is free for Mukilteo residents. Pick up a free brochure to learn about the sights along the way. The bus goes all the way to the present ferry terminal.

We visited this park to see the Ferry service in operation, to see the light house and to feel ocean. It is very very neat, clean park. The Amtrak passing right next to sea shoreline and right at the edge of parking lot is thrill in itself. Lighthouse was closed due to some maintenance. We stroll on sea shore for an hour or so,, It was an experience by itself. You are in nature.

Mukilteo is a charming town; Lighthouse Park, a great place to spend an afternoon if not the day. Tour the lighthouse on weekends, enjoy walking the beach, relax on the lawns, let the kids hit the playground. Lots of little shops and eateries close by, the ferry landing is right there...ride it to Whidbey Island (another terrific place) or simply enjoy watching them go back and forth (more fun than you might think!) This is a great place to take visitors, to get a taste of Seattle life without a lot of commotion. Plenty of free parking.

Ferry Loop Lighthouse Tour (an all day adventure)!!
This is one tour we often make when friends or family come to visit us in Seattle for a week. We have always gone on weekdays, so I don't know how the weekends would be.
It's along one of our favorite scenic routes in the Puget Sound area. (We sometimes travel the reverse for variety on our part).
1 - Starting in Edmonds, WA, it's breakfast at Chantrelle (Dinner in the reverse) http://www.chanterellewa.com/Menus.html
Hop aboard the Edmonds Ferry to Kingston, then follow Hwy 104W to Hwy 101N and get off at the Port Townsend exit & take Hwy 20 all the way to Fort Worden State Park & POINT WILSON LIGHTHOUSE. Then back to town for some strolling along Water Ave and then it's "Waterfront Pizza" for Lunch!! Go upstairs and dine-in (caution: it's warm up there in the summer).
2 - Take the Port Townsend Ferry to Coupeville, WA. Head West toward Fort Casey State Park & follow the signs to ADMIRALTY HEAD LIGHTHOUSE. Then either adventure along Fort Casey Road to Hwy 20S, which becomes the 525, toward Clinton or just reverse yourself out of Ft. Casey back toward the Ferry Port and continue on Hwy 20E the 525S to Clinton.
3 - Take the Clinton Ferry to Mukilteo and the MUKILTEO LIGHTHOUSE. We like to enjoy dinner at Diamond Knot brewery (if you're not pizza'd out, they have excellent pies). Then stroll out along the water for a little campfire.
Well, that's our all day Lighthouse/Ferry tour with meal suggestions!

If you're traveling from Mukilteo to Clinton, make sure you allocate time to allow you a visit to the Lighthouse Park. Family activity is enjoyable, picnic if you wish, or just get away - you're close to town, but miles away when you're on the beach/shore -- you're in a different world

A nice and clean park. Tends to be very busy these days, but there was still plenty of parking and beach for everyone. There is a fee to park.

Nice little light house. Small park area next to the lighthouse and ferry landing. Enjoyable. Would do again. An hour is plenty to experience it.

Is there a covered area at the beach?
Clarence E
Mukilteo, WA15 contributions
As the others have said, there is a very nice covered area.
The lighthouse is giving tours on the weekends only. Start at noon. Very interesting history about this spot. It is called Rose Point. Named by early explorers.
There are concrete fire rings so you can roast your hot dogs or do smores. BBQ's under the covered areas.

Hi Lighthouse Staff:
We are traveling from Spokane to Mulkiteo to meet another car from Tacoma. We are arriving Thursday afternoon July 28.
Can we reserve two parking spots?
How much does one spot cost?
What times does the afternoon ferry depart?
When should we arrive to be the ferry?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Joann b!
They have plenty of Parking at this location however you will have to pay a little money if you are going for awhile , however not expensive at all! I'm sure you'll be fine .
Price for use of the fire pits?
WAZZU76

I do not believe there is a charge. Just bring some wood and build a fire on the beach. I've done so a couple of times and never questioned about it. You'll have to bring your own wood though.
do you have tours

You can just take your own tour. Here is the website. Also if your going that way take the ferry to Whidbey island. You will not be sorry. Go to mukilteohistorical
