About
In 1985, RoozenGaarde was founded as a small showgarden and retail shop. With this addition Washington Bulb Co, Inc. was now able to reach out to the many individual flower enthusiasts and gardeners who wanted direct access to WBC’s great products. Flowers and floral arrangements are available every day of the year. The gift shop is also stocked with Tulip Festival merchandise, gardening tools and books, and unique gifts for the home and garden. The original showgarden has grown to over 3 ½ acres and is annually planted with over a ¼ million spring flowering bulbs. Included in this count are 85 different varieties of tulips, 25 varieties of daffodils, plus varieties of hyacinths, crocuses, and irises. Every flower is listed in our bulb catalog (and online!) which is available for visitors as they stroll through the garden. We encourage visitors and home gardeners alike to come check us out to simply enjoy the sights or see what ideas you can take back home for your own flower beds!

- Matt HDecatur, Alabama57 contributionsMust do in Washington in the SpringMy wife and I, along with our son who lives in Washington, toured the gardens during the local Tulip Festival. The colors were brilliant and amazing. They had large sections with rows of the same color contrasted with another section next to it. Created a brilliant landscape. Also, they had many different varieties of flowers interspersed around the landscape.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 11, 2024

They have ample parking and gravel paths to the entrance, lines move fast to enter the grounds. This tulip farm is so well designed, acres of tulips everywhere you turn is a picture of beauty. They also sell fresh cut tulips to go and also refreshments and excellent fudge. Enjoy the joy of spring you love it.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 12, 2024

Parking is free but there is a charge for admission. Well organized with several gift shops and several paths through a garden area.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 16, 2024

Our local friends were very tired of dealing with the tulip traffic; we were there after the height of tulip festival activities. We visited the garden on May 2, 2024 and admission was $10 per person due to many of the tulips being trimmed down already. There were still many blooms to see. Display gardens are worth the price of admission along but the beauty of the fields is stunning. Be prepared to walk a good distance to see them. We have visited the gardens outside of Amsterdam and this adventure measures up without the 10 hour plane ride.

I ordered two, 10-bulb packs of tulip bulbs. When they arrived last fall, I sent an email and pics of several of the bulbs that looked discolored/dis-formed, but got no response back. I spent time planting the bulbs per instructions and as I have other bulbs over the years, but this spring, only 1 of the pink bulbs and about 4 of the purple opened. Many bulbs just sent up leaves; on a few others, the stems contorted and they never grew upwards. Again I took photos, which I emailed on 4/5 with my complaint and sent also on 4/16. No response back. I called 5/6 and they finally agreed to refund my money, but I asked for the owner to call + emailed him, saying that there should be some restitution for the 1) time spent trying to contact them 2) effort and time planting the bulbs 3) lack of flowers in the yard. Not surprisingly, there was no response again. I would highly recommend people buy bulbs elsewhere!

Beautiful flowers for as far as the eye can see, whats there not to like? Its a great day/ afternoon trip from Seattle. Definitely try going on a day its not raining, otherwise carry boots/ waterproof shoes for the muck and a jacket, it can get windy and cold. Its a large farm so prepare to do some walking around. The main fields are beautiful but they can get a bit repetitive after a point so definitely check out of tulip displays closer to the entrance, they have more colours and combinations on display and what looked like different types of tulips. La Conner is a quaint town close by which made for a nice pits stop before heading back to the city.

Beautiful gardens- well organized- food available. Drove up here to visit from Bellevue area. Arrived early and explored farm. It wasn’t until we were leaving that we discovered the gardens in the front area that is shrouded by bushes. The weather was perfect! There were many people arriving while we were there. There was a small barn where they were cooking food for purchase. Definitely worth the trip!!

By the time we spent a few hours photographing all the tulips, I felt like I was on sensory overload. It was a wonderful experience. Very well organized. Lots of people. My only disappointment was not with the gardens, but with the tourists that think they are so special they don't have to obey posted rules. After all, obeying rules is a sign of respect for everyone as well as the environment.

The Tulip Festival occurs every April. The show gardens were lovely. Every photo we took was beautiful of the colorful tulips. There isn't much for children to do, but adults were really enjoying their visit. Parking is free. Pay to enter the garden. Worth it!

The tulips fields were beautiful. We went in the late afternoon and missed most of the traffic. The last weekend in April was the height of blooms this year due to a late spring. I can't imagine how crowded the fields would be with full parking lots.

Can I see some tulips on February?
Written January 21, 2019
Hello, I was going to take some pictures of tulips at sunrise which is at 6 am. Is that possible? How early I can arrive at tulip fields? Thank you!
Written April 15, 2018
There are some fields along the road that you can take pictures anytime.

As we don't drive but take the Amtrak Cascade train from Seattle to Mt Vernon station, is there any transportation from St Vernon station to Roozengaarde?
Written March 7, 2017
There is a city bus (SKAT) at the same terminal as Amtrak that has a route to LaConner that runs down McLean Road and it's a 1/4 mile walk to RoozenGaarde from the bus stop. We also have Uber (and taxis) in the area and there are fields directly behind RoozenGaarde as well so you don't necessarily have to drive to see fields. You will find their schedule on the Skagit Transit page. Route 615.

Is the first week-end in May too late to see the Tulips?
Written April 6, 2016
Yup, it will be too late. They typically maintain the Roozengaarde display garden till festival end which is Apr 30.

Is March a good month to visit? wondering if anything is in bloom
Written March 1, 2016
The tulip festival which starts in April is predicting the tulips will be in bloom3rd week of March. You can always call Roozenguard to ask what's blooming

Is there much to see in the summer months in the flower fields or are they pretty much empty and colorless?
Written June 11, 2015
I don't think there is anything to see after spring, I agree with Leavenworth and then there are the Lavender Festival over in Sequim in July.
Written June 12, 2015
What is the best day to visit? Are weekends significantly busier compared to week days?
Cheers!
