Don’t miss out on the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival that runs only in April. This tour from Seattle takes you to Tulip Town, Roozengaarde, and the village of La Conner. Stroll through acres (hectares) of tulip fields and chat with growers to learn about their skillsets. Spend time wandering La Conner, and see Pioneer Park and Rainbow Bridge.

I ordered two, 10-bulb packs of tulip bulbs. When they arrived last fall, I sent an email and pics of several of the bulbs that looked discolored/dis-formed, but got no response back. I spent time planting the bulbs per instructions and as I have other bulbs over the years, but this spring, only 1 of the pink bulbs and about 4 of the purple opened. Many bulbs just sent up leaves; on a few others, the stems contorted and they never grew upwards. Again I took photos, which I emailed on 4/5 with my complaint and sent also on 4/16. No response back. I called 5/6 and they finally agreed to refund my money, but I asked for the owner to call + emailed him, saying that there should be some restitution for the 1) time spent trying to contact them 2) effort and time planting the bulbs 3) lack of flowers in the yard. Not surprisingly, there was no response again. I would highly recommend people buy bulbs elsewhere!

The Tulips Festival is canceled, so there is no parking, stopping, visiting or dining anywhere. A drive by works nicely, and it’s free until we manage the Covid-19 outbreak, but then tulips will be done for the year. Roozengaarde does a lovely job, even along the road.

Roozengaarde is s bit smaller than Tulip City, but the displays are so uniques and breathtaking. It is more than seeing rows and rows of tulips. This season I was delighted by a Seattle Seahawks logo-and the lovely heart around one area. The windmill looks great in my photos with tulips all around it. Parking is usually accessible even at the busiest times and the gift shop has special items. You can walk around and order our tulips as you see them in full bloom. Much better than a picture. Fun place to go.

I took the most stunning photos of tulips. Fields of magnificent flowers. Lovely gardens. Highly recommend this spring experience.
