About
In 1985, RoozenGaarde was founded as a small showgarden and retail shop. With this addition Washington Bulb Co, Inc. was now able to reach out to the many individual flower enthusiasts and gardeners who wanted direct access to WBC’s great products. Flowers and floral arrangements are available every day of the year. The gift shop is also stocked with Tulip Festival merchandise, gardening tools and books, and unique gifts for the home and garden. The original showgarden has grown to over 3 ½ acres and is annually planted with over a ¼ million spring flowering bulbs. Included in this count are 85 different varieties of tulips, 25 varieties of daffodils, plus varieties of hyacinths, crocuses, and irises. Every flower is listed in our bulb catalog (and online!) which is available for visitors as they stroll through the garden. We encourage visitors and home gardeners alike to come check us out to simply enjoy the sights or see what ideas you can take back home for your own flower beds!

Beautiful walk through the tulip fields and teh display gardens. Almost a sensory overload experience. Get there early by noon it is very crowded and that is on a Wednesday. Weekends are packed. A totally enjoyable experience.

Display gardens are worth the price of admission along but the beauty of the fields is stunning. Be prepared to walk a good distance to see them. We have visited the gardens outside of Amsterdam and this adventure measures up without the 10 hour plane ride.

Couldn’t have picked a better day-clear blue skies and height seventies. Directions very clear and easily marked. Huge operation with loads of parking and outdoor porta bathrooms. We were able to pull our tickets up and have them scanned upon entry. Although it is a timed ticket, there were many people heading in with us, however, once we were into the gardens, people really spread out and went their own ways. It was so gorgeous and it was such a feast for the eyes-blazing, beautiful colors and rows showcasing different varieties.
There was also a gift shop (can’t comment because I didn’t want to stand in the line) but we did pick up some fudge made by a company called Fidalgo fudge which was fantastic too!

Roozengaarde is a large tulip farm with fields planted with many different colors. There is a lot to walk around! The colors are really vivid! I was amazed at the oranges, reds, pinks and purples and how vivid they appeared without applying any filter on my phone. Because the fields are quite large you could spend some time here taking different angles, with the mountain backdrop, the different rainbow colors. and close ups of different flowers. The Display Garden part as pictured in the thumbnail includes colorful block planting to create beauful borders. It also features a wide range of tulips - not just your regular ones, but interestingly shapped ones and ones with frilly petals. If you were interested just in the variety, this would be a great place to come because they have made an effort to showcase all different types of tulip. There are places to sit and food to purchase too. I am not sure if you could picnic here but you could probably get away with doing so in a quiet spot since it is spacious. Really brilliant ,

Beautiful gardens- well organized- food available. Drove up here to visit from Bellevue area. Arrived early and explored farm. It wasn’t until we were leaving that we discovered the gardens in the front area that is shrouded by bushes. The weather was perfect! There were many people arriving while we were there. There was a small barn where they were cooking food for purchase. Definitely worth the trip!!

I ordered two, 10-bulb packs of tulip bulbs. When they arrived last fall, I sent an email and pics of several of the bulbs that looked discolored/dis-formed, but got no response back. I spent time planting the bulbs per instructions and as I have other bulbs over the years, but this spring, only 1 of the pink bulbs and about 4 of the purple opened. Many bulbs just sent up leaves; on a few others, the stems contorted and they never grew upwards. Again I took photos, which I emailed on 4/5 with my complaint and sent also on 4/16. No response back. I called 5/6 and they finally agreed to refund my money, but I asked for the owner to call + emailed him, saying that there should be some restitution for the 1) time spent trying to contact them 2) effort and time planting the bulbs 3) lack of flowers in the yard. Not surprisingly, there was no response again. I would highly recommend people buy bulbs elsewhere!

Beautiful flowers for as far as the eye can see, whats there not to like? Its a great day/ afternoon trip from Seattle. Definitely try going on a day its not raining, otherwise carry boots/ waterproof shoes for the muck and a jacket, it can get windy and cold. Its a large farm so prepare to do some walking around. The main fields are beautiful but they can get a bit repetitive after a point so definitely check out of tulip displays closer to the entrance, they have more colours and combinations on display and what looked like different types of tulips. La Conner is a quaint town close by which made for a nice pits stop before heading back to the city.

Well worth the long drive. Easier than going to Amsterdam! The tulips were magnificent. Our timing was perfect, the weather was perfect. We went in the morning on a weekday so the crowds weren't bad. Enjoyed the beauty.

My wife and I visited here in April. So many varieties of tulips and daffodils. Gorgeous color of the fields of tulips. The gardens were kept in impeccable shape. So peaceful and beautiful. Very busy but not over crowded. The best part of the trip was learning about the history of this farm. We spent a good hour being taught about the history of the farm and how to grow tulips. The original farmer came from Holland after multiple generations of growing tulips in Holland and started growing tulips (and many children) in Washington. The son was who we were speaking with. So awesome to learn about the tulips and the American dream.

Cannot say enough about this tour. Acres and acres of gorgeous tulip fields as well as beautiful, artistic displays. We had a picture perfect day. All staff were polite, very helpful and fully Covid compliant. So glad we did the Tulip Town Tour BEFORE this one.

Hello, I was going to take some pictures of tulips at sunrise which is at 6 am. Is that possible? How early I can arrive at tulip fields? Thank you!

As we don't drive but take the Amtrak Cascade train from Seattle to Mt Vernon station, is there any transportation from St Vernon station to Roozengaarde?

There is a city bus (SKAT) at the same terminal as Amtrak that has a route to LaConner that runs down McLean Road and it's a 1/4 mile walk to RoozenGaarde from the bus stop. We also have Uber (and taxis) in the area and there are fields directly behind RoozenGaarde as well so you don't necessarily have to drive to see fields. You will find their schedule on the Skagit Transit page. Route 615.

Is the first week-end in May too late to see the Tulips?

Yup, it will be too late. They typically maintain the Roozengaarde display garden till festival end which is Apr 30.

Is March a good month to visit? wondering if anything is in bloom
codcreater
Mount Vernon, WA31 contributions
The tulip festival which starts in April is predicting the tulips will be in bloom3rd week of March. You can always call Roozenguard to ask what's blooming
Is there much to see in the summer months in the flower fields or are they pretty much empty and colorless?

I don't think there is anything to see after spring, I agree with Leavenworth and then there are the Lavender Festival over in Sequim in July.

What is the best day to visit? Are weekends significantly busier compared to week days?
Cheers!
