Whoo Hoo - we get to be the first review of an awesome up-and-coming Skagit Valley winery! I've previousy written about Sweetie Pie Cider (see review for Queen of the Valley B&B in La Conner), but never thought to review the winery itself. Tulip Valley is a short trek off the main drag in Mount Vernon, but it's a must do for any wine lovin' enthusiast!

Tastings are free (of course you won't leave without buying a few bottles (or even cases)). They don't "specialize" in any variety individually, so be prepared to try around 8 different reds/whites and 6ish different ciders. The wines are great - you'll find one that suites your tongue I'm certain. The ciders are flat out unparalleled. Not only do they have bottles - but they can even do cases for a substitute to champagne at weddings. Most of them are pretty dry but all are super refreshing - gets the juices flowing as a pre-dinner sipping beverage. Sweetie Pie is 7 percent alcohol - made out of gravenstein apples.

They're still small enough now to have the owners pouring quite frequently, so you can really get a flavor of what they do and what other Skagit area wineries will be coming online soon. They also keep cold bottles for you and have some great outdoor seating. If the day's right and you have someone to enjoy a bottle with - you can sample and enjoy all at the same time!

A hard cider is a tough item to come by and they're distribution network is getting larger. . . Make sure you get in and see them on your next trip near the area!

The winery was closed in January and February but finally open in March. The small tasting room is in an old milking shed on some pretty land outside Mt Vernon and very cute.
They had a nice selection of wines, both red and white an the grapes apparently come from the Eastern WA area - The reds were certainly more developed than the sweeter whites - We enjoyed the Red Barn Blend and bought some take home. Buy a bottle and get the tasting free-of-charge - Only $5.00 if you don't. The winemakers wife, who happened to be doing the tastings was very pleasant and chatty. The bonus were the flowers blooming around the winery since the weather has been so nice in the area - Stop by on your way to the Anacortes Ferry. It's a pleasant visit.

Stopped by this winery on a vacation in early May. The place was closed, but the owner came out and was kind enough to let us in and give a tasting. The wines and ciders were really tasty, and we had some great conversations! The scenery is lovely, and there’s an old car on-site that makes for great pictures.

This was a great find. We were on our way to another winery & discovered them while driving buy. The building is an old dairy barn that has been converted. They did a nice job. The lady who was serving was fun to have as a wine host. The wines were good & they also do several types of ciders from their own apples & pears. Lots of really cool wood slab tables, and a really nice side deck to enjoy the wine. This is a place I will come back to.

We were passing through on our way to Anacortes to take the ferry â›´ to Friday Harbor. We found this winery on Google.

I am so happy we stopped. The place inside and outside was beautiful. The owner was absolutely amazing on helping us with the wine tastings, and telling us about the area. All of the wine we tasted was amazing.

Recommend checking this place out.

It was not a winery like you imagine like a vineyard but more of a tasting room. The two ladies helping us were very friendly. Wine tasting was $5 per person but if you buy a bottle then it is free. You should stop by if you are in the area. Driving around this area is very pretty and relaxing.

We stopped here and enjoyed the free wine tasting and friendly woman working the bar, but they're out of cider. There was an art exhibition being held, and that was fun to browse. Definitely worth a stop but we were disappointed not to try any cider.

This winery had a mix of hard ciders and wine. The ciders were interesting ... they had one that was aged in whiskey barrels that was unlike anything I'd ever had before. I wasn't too fond of the wines; most of them were pretty sweet and I'm not a sweet wine drinker. My mother-in-law was in heaven, though! The reds were not great. I'll stick with the cider.

There's a little art gallery right in the same building that was interesting to take a stroll through as well.

If you are close or plan to be close to Mount Vernon Washington in the next couple of weeks be sure to take in the Tulip Festival and visit the winery too. What a deal. We got to see the tulips and also taste some of the best wines in the region. You have no Idea how much they treat you like royalty. Good wine great people and much much more. Stayed in a great hotel in town and did the whole valley in a couple of days. We were very pleased with the weather in the mid 70's and no rain. Come on what could be better.

The lady who owns the winery was nice, she might have been a little tipsy, which is alright by me! We were on our way to Bellingham when I started looking for wineries. They gave like 3 small tastes complimentary and you could try more if you wanted to pay. That's a pretty good system actually. I didn't particularly like the flavors of most of the ciders, but I did end up buying the sweet one. Nothing super special but it wasn't a bad experience at all.
