Had a great learning day with Paul - anchor building, multi-pitch scenarios and into climbing situations that challenged my abilities. Thanks Paul & NCMG.

I have done two climbing/mountaineering trips with NCMG with Jeff Ward as our guide (Mt. Baker in 2014 and Forbidden Peak in 2017). Both trips were amazing. NCMG and Jeff are totally committed to making each trip an awesome and unforgettable experience. They go above and beyond to ensure this. If you are looking for professional guides who love what they do and are devoted to you, look no further than NCMG.
I highly recommend them.

NCMG provided excellent guides/climbing partners for three days of technical rock climbing in the Washington Pass area. On the first day, Josh Cole led a day climb of the Rappel Grapple route (5.8+) on Liberty Bell at Washington Pass. On the second and third days, Kirk Schumacher guided an overnight trip to the larch bench below Burgundy Spire. On day two he led a climb of the West Ridge route on Paisano Pinnacle, adjacent to Burgundy Spire. Day three we hiked out, and after a sandwich at the Mazama Store we spent the afternoon at Fun Rock, where Kirk taught me a number of rescue methods and techniques. NCMG arranged this trip on just a few days' notice; I inquired on a Wednesday and we were climbing the following Monday. Josh and Kirk were not only ultra-safe and highly competent climb leaders but also excellent companions with a wealth of good stories to pass the time on the trail and a wealth of good information about climbing and backpacking equipment and techniques. Their deep and detailed knowledge of local conditions was indispensable. They did a great job of selecting climbs that were challenging yet do-able for me. I was completely satisfied and not only would but actually did hire NCMG for guiding a subsequent climbing trip.

Recently, I had the opportunity to do a two day, multi-pitch rock climbing course with NCMG. My guide, Drew, was in constant contact with me leading up to the course, and was friendly and professional during our two days of climbing. Not only did we meet our objective, topping out on Liberty Bell, I also learned a lot of practical information to take home so that I can continue to climb safely. Everyone at NCMG made my experience memorable and enjoyable! I'll be back!

My second week with Larry Goldie....rock climbing in the North Cascades in 2013 and 2015. Larry is a pro.....super safe, great teacher, awesome guide and translates his experiences to make my climbs perfect! Being based in the mountains makes NCMG the guiding service to use in Washington State....and beyond!

Larry Goldie is a fabulous guide.I highly recommend spending a day back country skiing with him. He is fun loving while educating you on reading mountain terrain and the snow pack. Leads the way while including you in the disucssion of mountain travel. Offers practical techinique to improve ski and climbing efficiency. And he will find the best possible snow conditions!! Now that is a great day in the mountains!!

Toured with a group of friends last weekend guided by John and Drew of NCMG. From start to finish we were treated to a safe, beautiful and well-organized backcountry adventure despite high avalanche potential. My only regret is that I didn't rent some really fat skis like the ones my friends used. Nonetheless, the skiing was outrageously fun and the guides clearly had given much thought to terrain and safety. Wish I could do it again next weekend!! Recommend NCMG without hesitation.

I have done two different one day and a week long back country (AT) ski trip with NCMG and highly recommend them for either. If you aren't up to or don't want to do all the planning, route determination, and detailed safety evaluation then these folks are more than worth the cost. During recent very high avalanche conditions they knew of and took several of us to a spot with excellent deep powder but low hazards. They provided snow machines to access the area, explained why the avalanche risk was low at that spot, set a skin track that even an old dude could easily follow and turned us loose on a couple of loops for some fine powder skiing. Besides, John and Drew were totally pleasant company and could give subtle pointers to make things even more fun.

NCMG continues to impress me with their depth of knowledge, experience and ability to make every outing an adventure. And even in this low snow year, they were able to find the freshest snow!

My husband and I just got back from an incredible trip with NCMG. We've done a lot of guided trekking/climbing/mountaineering trips - Colorado Rockies, Canadian Rockies, Peru, and Chamonix - and we both agreed that this one was our best experience by far. We did NCMG's Glacier Travel Course (3-day) in the Silver Star Glacier area. The process of planning with NCMG was flawless - I always received prompt responses to my emails and considerate answers to silly questions (from Paul, Jake and Adrienne - thanks guys!). Our guide, Jeff, was fantastic - very knowledgable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We met Jeff in Mazama before departing for two nights at high camp - he made sure we had all of the gear and supplies we needed. The actual climbing was fantastic as well - very winter-y conditions for October! We both learned a lot from Jeff about navigating on glaciers, and of course, crevasse rescue. When we didn't have an opportunity to practice rope ascension on the glacier, Jeff took us to an outdoor sport climbing spot in Mazama to practice. We really feel that Jeff and NCMG went above and beyond to make our trip special, and it truly was! We hope to one day make it back out to Cascades for another guided adventure. Long story short, I highly, highly recommend these guides!
