As described, this is a LONG beach -- some 26 miles. The sand is dark, flat, wide, and hard; cars are allowed to drive along this beach so beware if you're sunning yourself.

Long Beach features the incredible fun of driving ON the beach, clamming, excellent food and antique shops, and an overall friendly vibe. We love it there!

Long beach offers the standard needs for residents and visitors. There are many food venues but few better than average dining experiences. There is a dearth of foods other than seafood. A good steak is hard to find; but one restaurant does quite well with a rib eye. Another excells in preparing Razor Clam. Then there is the oft vetted... More

We live just 2 hours away from Long Beach and for the past 8 years visit 20+ times a year! Many times when there is an irresistible negative tide we drive there, dig our clams, and drive the 2-hours back home. More often however, we will book a 2-4 night stay to take advantage of a string of negative tides.... More

Long beach has a great beach. Lots of activities. You can rent scooters or horses. Love walking the boardwalk at sunset. Lots of cute souvenir shops and great restaurants.

You can drive on the beach. Park your car, stroll the beach, have a picnic. The city is small town America. Numerous small shops and restaurants.

We have visited Long Beach 3 times in 3 years and will continue to go back. It is a nice quiet town (midweek, anyway) with lots of little shops, candy/ice cream shops and restaurants. The beach extends for miles and has a fantastic Discovery Trail which goes all the way to Cape Disappointment State Park. There are many attractions nearby,... More
