- Yolanda O9 contributionsFamily Sleigh RideThis is the second time we have used Leavenworth Sleigh Rides, and they did not disappoint! The first time we went snowmobiling and the second time we went on a sleigh ride. Everyone was so nice and genuinely enjoyed providing us with a memorable experience. Highly recommend!Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 30, 2023
- LILIA F4 contributionsLeavenworth Christmas timeIt was beautiful I was prepared for long lines . I was pleasantly surprised. We were able to have lunch at Rhein Haus and only 10 minute wait time. Food was good not a big variety of food selection. During the day less crowds. More crowds when the sun goes down.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 18, 2023

Our guide was knowledgeable about the area, the history of the farm, and of course the horses! We really enjoyed the experience!Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 22, 2024
- Jenny K2 contributionsNot short at all...great lengthAfter reading reviews about how short the sleigh rides supposedly were, I was a little worried but I figured it would be fine since I had two little ones with me anyway. But we found that it was exactly the length described on the website. The route was interesting and varied and we felt like our children had an authentic sleigh ride experience. Yes, they do drive the horses slow but at one point our driver had the horses speed up over a straight path to give us the feeling of "dashing through the snow." It was brief, but fun! Truly, you WANT them to go slow through most of it though to prolong the experience and for the safety and well being of the passengers and horses. DO bring a blanket or consider buying one in the gift shop ($35 at the time we visited). If you can, I recommend booking the first row for the best view of the horses.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 3, 2024

I wish I could leave a good review but I cannot. The sleigh ride only lasted about 10 minutes if that. Then 20+ minutes were spent at the barn where we stood around the hanging fire pit and had a glass of hot cider. I do remember looking around and seeing the other sleighs and horses just parked up by the fence a bit from here. I thought there has got to be more to this. But, then we got back on the sleigh and only went about 150 yards if that and this is where you got off the sleigh and that was it. We could have walked from the barn back to the cottage. I was baffled and I looked at my spouse and we simultaneously said, "that was not worth it!" I know we were not the only ones to think the same as others seemed to be just as baffled as us. As one lady said out loud. "This is it?" I know snow is minimal but they really are better off to cancel the sleigh rides. I will not do this again!

Gently gliding over the fresh-fallen snow, all bundled up under warm blankets we entered the woods as our driver, Chris, spun the historical tales of the land known as Mountain Springs. Always pacing his story in anticipation of what was waiting for us just around the next bend, Chris brought our sleigh to a barn framed in Christmas lights where we riders warmed ourselves with hot cider by a glowing outdoor fire….
….a magical experience for all! A glorious way to prepare for celebrating the Christmas Season and His birth.

Our experience with the Leavenworth sleigh ride was absolutely magical and exceeded all expectations! Zack, our coach driver, was incredible—polite, friendly, and professional throughout the entire journey. He provided an excellent private tour through the breathtaking snowy landscape, sharing interesting insights and adding a personal touch that made the ride even more special. The serene beauty of the surroundings, paired with the peaceful sound of the sleigh gliding over the snow, created an unforgettable experience. Zack’s warm and welcoming nature truly stood out, and he ensured that every moment was enjoyable and memorable. This sleigh ride was without a doubt a highlight of our trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Leavenworth. Thank you, Zack, for your outstanding service and for making this experience one we’ll always cherish!
Ps: Cash was the name of the beautiful horse pulling our sleigh, thank you Cash fir the amazing pictures you gave us looking at the camera all the time.

It was fine but not worth the price. It’s advertised as a 40-50 minute sleigh ride but it’s 15 minutes, if that, and then approximately 30 minutes by a fire with cider served in 3oz paper cups. The people were nice enough but I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless they understand what they are actually paying for. False advertising.

It was a difficult experience for us. It was raining hard and we all got wet and cold. The blankets they provided were soaking wet and unusable. We had to cut our ride short and walk back to the lodge.
I believe when it’s raining bad the ride should be canceled and/or the customers given the option for a credit on a future ride.
I’m sure the experience would have been great as we were expecting if the weather had cooperated. Even snow would have been manageable, but rain is definitely not an option.

Our employer at the Leavenworth KOA provided this wonderful adventure for the crew. We were all tired from dealing with the heaviest snowfall in 50 years. All that snow made our sleigh ride even better and more beautiful. The horses were magnificent, the setting perfect, and we had the best tour guide ever. She regaled us with information about the area, answered our questions, and interacted with each one of us in a friendly and humorous way. We all thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would recommend it to anyone.

Definitely worth the experience! Our sleigh driver was very informative and Mike and Marty were some of the best Belgian horses. If in the area would recommend doing this, the view and ride is gorgeous with some delicious apple cider to stay warm.

Because of covid they only do private rides right now and we were not disappointed. We went on a ride with Anika (I think that was her name, I’m terrible with names). She was really nice and friendly. I loved the comfortable and homey vibe. She recommended some restaurants, chatted with us along the way. We had some hot cider and got to pet the horses. It was a wonderful ride. We met other riders, everyone was so nice. I would come back because of their customer service. The ride was beautiful, there was quite a bit of snow. I’d you’re in the area, be sure to choose mountain springs sleigh rides!

On December 31st we had our first sleigh ride ever. We had high expectations of amazement. Instead we were miserable and cold the entire time. It had started to rain this day and though the website said that blankets were provided, they were to all other 3 sleds but mine. We had a blanket to sit on so the bench seat was dry but unlike the other sleighs we did not get a blanket for our laps. This led to our pants being soaked through leaving us cold and wishing the ride would end sooner. Luckily our pup bodies were dry and warm. If I would have known blankets would have run out we would have worn our snow gear. The sleigh ride would have been a great experience had the weather been different, blankets provided, or if we had just planned on wearing head to toe rain gear.

The snow had melted some so the sleigh ride was cut a little short . We were refunded part of the reservation fee as a result . The break for cider was very nice .
The only thing that would have made it better is a longer ride to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

If I come at the end of February, will there likely still be plenty of snow?

How much of the ride is through the forest/trees, and how much is in the open fields?

What is the best time to go on a sleigh ride? I am debating whether to go on the early one with brunch or at 4pm ?
Written December 3, 2018
Hello! I apologize for missing this question! Honestly, they are both fantastic! If you come on a Sunday, we serve an amazing Sunday Brunch that the Breakfast Sleigh Ride is upgraded to so if you can make a Sunday morning work, it is an excellent deal!

Hi, my family and I will be visiting Leavenworth Dec 17th. We have a big family w/small children(4adults, 5kids). We want to snowmobile and sleigh ride. Is this an appropriate place for our big family? Also, is sledding allowed in the snow while we wait for our adult snowmobiles to finish?
Excited,
Nathalie

When does the Christmas season start? Looking for sleigh rides and snowmobile for November 16-19.. anything to do at that time of year?
Written October 25, 2016
I will be in Leavenworth visiting for Christmas this year. We will be there Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th. We are meeting my son who is stationed in the Navy in Bangor on a submarine and his wife. Would love to book a sleigh ride on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Is there often snow for christmas. Let me know if this would be possible. Thanks!! Bob Blair

Yes, we had beautiful snowy wonderland at Christmas time! Our sleigh-ride was such a perfect Christmas activity and the meal after was very festive. We have even had a thick blanket of snow at Thanksgiving in Leavenworth.
