About
Just like the good old days only better. A two horse sleigh, clean crisp winter air, the crunch of fresh snow, open meadows, snow covered trees, and the babbling waters of Beaver Creek, sleigh bells and the carol of your choice. Enjoy a hot spiced cider by the open fire.

My wife and I spent the better part of an afternoon for a sleigh ride at Mountain Springs Resort. We certainly enjoyed sleighing through the meadows and woods, even passing Grandma's house along the way.
As enjoyable as the ride was, it was made even more so by our teamster Jimmy. He has quite an interesting life story and a passion for what he does. Perhaps we'll get to meet Short Stack in the future! Adam, one of the owner's son's clearly loved his horses.
We were fortunate enough for the wild turkeys to arrive just in time for their feeding! Adam explained that even though they were wild, they did enjoy a bit of a treat of mixed grain on occasion.
The sleigh ride took a bit over a half an hour and meandered through snow covered meadows and hilly forest. The blankets kept us warm, though I do I do recommend dressing for winter! The ride gave us a little bit of a thrill at times, but we always felt secure with Jimmy at the reins.
Adam treated us to hot cider around an open fire, telling stories of how his ancestors settled the area and how the property has evolved into the beautiful all-season resort that stands today.
I certainly recommend a visit for people of all ages.

Our employer at the Leavenworth KOA provided this wonderful adventure for the crew. We were all tired from dealing with the heaviest snowfall in 50 years. All that snow made our sleigh ride even better and more beautiful. The horses were magnificent, the setting perfect, and we had the best tour guide ever. She regaled us with information about the area, answered our questions, and interacted with each one of us in a friendly and humorous way. We all thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would recommend it to anyone.

Gorgeous property.
Had a 30 minute sleigh ride for 10 people. The grounds were amazing.
The staff was beyond friendly. Everyone was polite and offered to take photos etc.
The lodge was beautiful.
The only feedback I could leave is that I wanted to just enjoy the silence and beauty of the place and hear the horses in the snow but our driver kept telling us about the vegetation and facts about the property.

Because of covid they only do private rides right now and we were not disappointed. We went on a ride with Anika (I think that was her name, I’m terrible with names). She was really nice and friendly. I loved the comfortable and homey vibe. She recommended some restaurants, chatted with us along the way. We had some hot cider and got to pet the horses. It was a wonderful ride. We met other riders, everyone was so nice. I would come back because of their customer service. The ride was beautiful, there was quite a bit of snow. I’d you’re in the area, be sure to choose mountain springs sleigh rides!

We give this experience a 5 out of 5. Our family had been looking forward to it and it was really fun. It was snowing heavily but that only added to the experience. Would love to come back. Highly recommend wearing full snow gear so you stay warm.

What a fantastic winter experience! Sidney was a wonderful tour guide and we enjoyed learning all about the lodge and the surroundings. We literally had a ride in a one-horse open sleigh, which was perfect for our family of four. Break in the middle with a fire and hot apple cider was a big hit with the kiddos. Just loved this.

It was a difficult experience for us. It was raining hard and we all got wet and cold. The blankets they provided were soaking wet and unusable. We had to cut our ride short and walk back to the lodge.
I believe when it’s raining bad the ride should be canceled and/or the customers given the option for a credit on a future ride.
I’m sure the experience would have been great as we were expecting if the weather had cooperated. Even snow would have been manageable, but rain is definitely not an option.

This was my family’s first winter vacation. We didn’t know what to expect; however, the staff made us feel at home. We selected the Santa Sleigh and it was amazing. My kids had an amazing time and our guide was kind, sweet, friendly and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone. Thank you for the great time.

Our driver was very charming, great to chat with, and the sleigh and horse were beautiful, but…it was the slowest plodding “ride” of all time.
Definitely NOT “Dashing” through the snow. Our ages are 49, 40, 21, and 13, and all of us were so bored.
So not worth the time, for us 😬

On December 31st we had our first sleigh ride ever. We had high expectations of amazement. Instead we were miserable and cold the entire time. It had started to rain this day and though the website said that blankets were provided, they were to all other 3 sleds but mine. We had a blanket to sit on so the bench seat was dry but unlike the other sleighs we did not get a blanket for our laps. This led to our pants being soaked through leaving us cold and wishing the ride would end sooner. Luckily our pup bodies were dry and warm. If I would have known blankets would have run out we would have worn our snow gear. The sleigh ride would have been a great experience had the weather been different, blankets provided, or if we had just planned on wearing head to toe rain gear.

If I come at the end of February, will there likely still be plenty of snow?

What is the best time to go on a sleigh ride? I am debating whether to go on the early one with brunch or at 4pm ?

Hello! I apologize for missing this question! Honestly, they are both fantastic! If you come on a Sunday, we serve an amazing Sunday Brunch that the Breakfast Sleigh Ride is upgraded to so if you can make a Sunday morning work, it is an excellent deal!

Hi, my family and I will be visiting Leavenworth Dec 17th. We have a big family w/small children(4adults, 5kids). We want to snowmobile and sleigh ride. Is this an appropriate place for our big family? Also, is sledding allowed in the snow while we wait for our adult snowmobiles to finish?
Excited,
Nathalie

I will be in Leavenworth visiting for Christmas this year. We will be there Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th. We are meeting my son who is stationed in the Navy in Bangor on a submarine and his wife. Would love to book a sleigh ride on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Is there often snow for christmas. Let me know if this would be possible. Thanks!! Bob Blair

Yes, we had beautiful snowy wonderland at Christmas time! Our sleigh-ride was such a perfect Christmas activity and the meal after was very festive. We have even had a thick blanket of snow at Thanksgiving in Leavenworth.
