With summer vacations and camps being cancelled this year, we were looking for a fun family activity. Corporate responsibility is very important to us. So, we looked for a company that was taking Covid seriously. We wanted to be sure that they would encourage social distancing and masks. We wanted to know that they would do what they could to provide a fun time that was safe and responsible. We were thrilled to find Orion for our trip down the Wenatchee River! I didn’t know this prior to our trip, but one accommodation they’ve made was a new meet-up location. The normal meet up is a public place that has a lot more people. It is extra work on their part, but we could tell that they really thought things through in order to protect their customers and employees. Upon arrival, all employees were wearing masks. We were required to complete a Covid survey which included the standard questions, but also contact information for each person just in case they needed to do any contact tracing. We were also required to wear masks during our contact with employees as we suited up and took a bus ride over to the start of our journey. On the bus, each group was able to spread out and the windows were open and we all wore masks. During the safety demonstration, we were reminded to keep social distance. Most importantly, we were allowed to be on a raft with just our household members and one guide. We did not wear masks on the river, as we expected being outdoors. Our guide was Kera. She was fantastic! She made sure that our family had a wonderful time. Our son was nervous and she made sure he felt safe. What a sweetheart! We enjoyed the stories about the rapids (true or not). We really enjoyed this experience and we will definitely be back again. Orion is a very professional operation. Thank you!

relaxed, could float at our own pace. Guide had some great stories about different areas of the river. jack did a great job keeping raft under control in difficult areas, my 8 year-old felt safe the whole time.

I found your company on the web as most people do these days, I booked with your company because I felt it was a good fit for your family of three. Once we arrived I had several questions because this was our first time rafting, all my questions were answered in full detail which made me feel safe. Our guide was Issac, he was very nice, he explained everything in detail and made sure we understood everything before we even got in the raft, during the ride, Issac gave us the history of the location we were in and told us about the water ahead along with several jokes. We hope to return to Leavenworth next summer and we will definitely ride the river with Orion and hopefully with Issac.

Thank you for a wonderful trip down the Wenatchee River!
Orion was also taking on extra people due to closure of another company and even though there were many boats it still felt so safe and incredibly well-organized from start to finish. Special shout out to Matt who was our guide. We were in the lead raft and still had what felt like a very special individualized experience even while we knew that he was being responsible and keeping an eye on the multiple rafts behind while still managing our own group.
Also compliments on the booking process over the phone. Every person I spoke to was friendly and helpful. I honestly made at least 5 phone calls in a period of a few days with questions and attempts to adjust our reservation and every single time I spoke to someone it was wonderful. They handled me with great professionalism and patience (even when I called multiple times in the same day).
Kudos to the entire team at Orion! Thank you~

Hot day- our lead guide Mason was excellent- best river rafting trip ever!!! His knowledge of the River, the explanation and brief before the trip to keep us safe, the local tidbits and local legends made us feel like he was “the” guide. He was very professional and in fact all the guides were professional, pleasant and knowledgeable as well. You could tell they liked each and they worked as a team. We’ll done Orion. Thank you for a great experience.

Had a wonderful ride down the Wenatchee with Ethan. Our guide was very professional and very thorough on safety issues. He was very personable and experienced and made the trip very enjoyable! The water level was perfect, 7000 CHS and made the rapids exciting but not scary!

Another rafting place cancelled on me last minute. I called Orion the day prior and they fit me as well as 3 other guests for my father’s birthday in no problem. The river was down because of being late in the season, but the young staff is so knowledgeable and energetic we still had a fantastic time. It’s a real delight to be around people that like what they do. I will definitely book them again.

We went rafting on the Wenatchee out of Leavenworth with Orion and had an absolute blast. Because of Covid we had our own raft and with two adults and two little kids it was much more work for our guide Amanda but she was amazing. She was fun and informative and we felt very safe. We loved the "waterslide" the guides set up for us to enjoy at the swimming hole. We have rafted several times around the PNW and were very impressed with Orion and their entire staff. Thanks for a great birthday trip for my husband!

We had a wonderful white water trip on the Wenatchee River. Ethan was our guide and he was awesome! All the safety issues were well explained before we set off.
The Wenatchee has some super fun rapids and this was a great time to go. I would highly recommend Orion. They do an excellent job of seeing that you all have a lot of fun while feeling safe.

As grandparents we wanted to give a different and interactive graduation gift to our grandson and granddaughter. So, we did some research and decided to take them to do something they would never do on their own, river rafting.
All I can say is we could not have picked a better gift as our grandchildren who had an absolute blast on this rafting trip. These lasting memories would not have been possible without Orion River Rafting and their staff Daniel and Kye. Daniel and Kye did an outstanding job with safety and proper rafting techniques but their passion for this type of entertainment sets them apart from other companies I have personally used in the past. Without hesitation I would take another trip with Daniel and Kye who work for Orion.
Thank you, Daniel, Kye and Orion for helping us as grandparents (we also thoroughly enjoyed the rafting trip ourselves) to make this a very memorable trip on such a special occasion for our grandkids.

It depends on the river flow. If it's high water season then they request paddlers be at least 12 years of age. If it's low water then a minimum age is 7. You can find more information on their website under Wenatchee Trips.

Food is provided on every river trip EXCEPT the Wenatchee River.
There are many good restaurants in Leavenworth and Cashmere for your apres-raft meal.

We do work with Sleeping Lady resort and groups that includes transport to and from the river; however, we do not have the resources to do that for individuals and small groups.

Does river rafting make you sea sick? I want to take my family in July, but my husband gets sea sick. Is this going to be a problem? We've never gone river rafting before.

To the best of our knowledge ---- no.
We've had more than a few guests ask prior to their trip this very same question and - as far as we know - no one has had an issue with sea-sickness on a river trip.
We DID have a customer once with vertigo that did not respond well to being on the river.
