- Tammy L1 contributionExceptional wine and amazing views!/Users/jameslee/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/originals/4/4048B1DF-7268-4F0D-We were told this was the best in Leavenworth... Did not disappoint. Tamera was absolutely delightful. The excellent service prompted us to purchase more wine. We cannot say enough good things about our experience at Silvara Cellars! The crew from Tennessee, Texas and Florida loved spending a beautiful fall afternoon enjoying the view, wine and fellowship! Thanks and Cheers!Hi Tammy, thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience. It warms our hearts to know that you enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Silvara. - Biztrvlr26Newport Beach, California9 contributionsThe highlight of our Leavenworth visit!Close friends gifted my wife and I a week in their beautiful Leavenworth summer home as a wedding gift and we had friends join us for an incredible week of relaxation. Anyway, as the week wound down and we had thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful June weather, magnificent views, delicious food, hiking, ziplining and just exploring the shops in town, one of our friends suggested we go wine tasting! For context, we live in Southern California with wine memberships at wineries in Napa, Paso and Santa Ynez, all top shelf, and if not an outright wine snob, my wife definitely has strong opinions about her wines! Anyway, with a little research, based on the reviews, we quickly settled on Sylvara, and boy am I glad we did! From the moment we walked in, it was clear that we were in for a treat. Nelson greeted us at the door, and his energy and enthusiasm were contagious. He showed us to our tasting room and immediately explained the new wine pairing experience (we were only the second group to enjoy it) that he had designed for Sylvara and its guests. We enjoyed five wines with the tasting, plus a couple of special bonus wines while paring each with a different cheese. To say that each pairing was an amazing experience on the palate doesn't do justice to the word amazing! I have not been a fan of whites for many years and I LOVED their white blend. I also found their Malbec to be as good or better than any I enjoyed in Argentina! But the king for me was their Cab reserve. Just delicious, full bodied with a wonderful finish. And as if all this wasn't enough, Nelson's knowledge of the wines and how they each matched was was being tasted with them, his charm and enthusiasm for what he does was truly engaging. Near the end of our time at Sylvara, Gary the owner came in and spent another good 30 minutes with us just visiting, and adding additional information about his journey in the wine business and in life. A great guy. And perhaps the best part of it all are their price points! For these delicious wines, I would have expected (and gladly paid) more than double in Napa or Paso! Needless to say, we left with over a case of different wines, smiles on our faces and fabulous memories. Do yourself a favor. You will want to experience this beautiful little respite at some point during your Leavenworth visit.Visited June 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 27, 2024
- Kimberly B1 contributionOn par with European Wine Tasting ExperiencesTop notch wines and experience! We happened upon Neil, the concierge at Silvara, while we were shopping at the cheesemonger in Leavenworth. He was so personable we decided to book a wine tasting experience at Silvara the next day. It was easy to do and turned out to be an excellent decision! Not only did we taste great wine, but we learned so much about the history, art, and science of wine and wine tasting. They even had scent palettes to help us identify the notes of our selections. We spent years in Italy and did extensive wine tasting while there. Located just minutes outside of Leavenworth, the setting and experience at Silvara was equivalent to some of the best wineries we toured while in Europe. I learned so much and came away with some new wines to share with friends and family. We even met the warm and kind owner and got more background about the story of Silvara. I highly recommend doing a tasting with Neil. Not only were the wines delightful, it was a highly educational experience. We walked away with skills that will help us entertain like pros and increase our enjoyment of wine for years to come. We will be back!Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 30, 2024

- Dream459469257702 contributionsElite tasting, pairing and timeMy Fiance and I did the wine tasting class with the cheering paring hosted by Neil/Nelson. He gave us an amazing tasting. He cared to teach us all aspects of wine making and tasting. His attention to detail was impressive. We have done a bunch of wine tastings before but no one seemed to care as much as him. Would highly recommend taking time to do this. Plus the wine was delicious! To Neil: queremos otra bebida contigo!Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 10, 2024

Visiting Sivara was a fun experience. With Covid, I imagine some things changed. We opted for the 3-wine tasting for $15 vs the flight for $20. We were able to sample some of the wines to make our decision and Tracy did an outstanding job explaining the options available to us. Best of all was the peaceful surroundings. Tracy told us to find a place outside and he would bring us the wines to us. We took our time and relaxed. Comfortable chairs with umbrellas and some tables would sit 2 while others could seat a party of 6. My advice is go on a nice day and relax outside. Some may say its pricey but hey you pay $50+ for 3 hours of golf - take an hour hour and enjoy some wine for $15.

Being Valentine's day, I went with my special spouse of 50 years to Silvara for some wine. We live within 20 minutes of Silvara and because of that are frequent visitors as we enjoy their wines usually in the summer with music outside. Today we had the opportunity to taste and enjoy their 2017 Sangiovese. This is their first release of this wine. I enjoyed the taste so much I came home with some. This is one of the few Sangiovese regionally that I've enjoyed that comes the closest to what I enjoyed while visiting Italy some years back. EXCELLENT wine. PS.....if you visit also taste their sparkling wine. Absolutely awesome blend. Yes....blend and very well done. I almost needed adult supervision to leave the winery without more than I purchased. Haha

First time to Leavenworth. Decided we needed to check out some wineries so our second stop was Silvara. Tracy was awesome at helping us navigate the wine options. Fifteen dollars or a Flight gets you 3 red choices. I believe the whites are $10. All the wineries sell Crackers, bread, cheese etc. Be aware you are buying the actual packages so you will get a lot and they will put out on a plate ( plus baggies for leftovers). We bought a gouda cheese, fig jam and Crackers which Tracy arranged on a plate and we thoroughly enjoyed. Bought additional of all plus 5 bottles of wine to take home. Loved the fig jam!!!
Met the owner,, Gary and loved hearing his story. View over the property was beautiful and we had such a relaxing afternoon. Highly recommend visiting and don't eat beforehand!!

We stopped here in New Year’s Eve looking forward something to do on a rainy afternoon. We enjoyed chatting with the lovely host and tasting several wines. My teen daughters were along and enjoyed the lodge atmosphere and comfortable couches. The wines were quite good. We ended up buying a few. All in all a nice stop and beautiful views even on a nasty weather day.

The winery itself I s in a beautiful location but it is the wine and the people who made this visit truly special. The tasting room manager.Tracy.welcomed us and set us up at a table. We chose some delicious cheese and crackers t o have with the wine and he plated everything on a nice serving platter. He gave us good information about the wines and then we were able to relax and enjoy. My husband and I both like red wines but don't necessarily like the s same ones. The ones like Cabernet Sauvignon that were my usual favorites were amazing. However even the wines that I don't like as well such as Syrah i could tell were excellent in their category. We got the chance to meet Gary, the winemaker and learn more about the wonderful wines. He gave us a bonus pour of his Malbec when he found out our tasting didn't include it.. My husband normally does not like Malbec but he liked that one and I really liked it. We took home two bottles of amazing wine. We will make it a point to go back to Silvara whenever we are in the area.

Thank you for the amazing review, we are so happy you found some amazing wine you love, including our unique Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Two wine club favorites that keep getting better with age. Gary has knocked it out of the park this year with his wine. Hope to have you back for another visit soon! Cheers!

This winery is a must do! The 2018 Cab Sauv Reserve is DELISH. It absolutely rivals Silver Oak and is a THIRD of the price! The owner Gary is amazing and Tamara is a unicorn, she is AMAZEBALLS! Left there with 2 cases of wine, a wine membership and new friends!
