Its a superb small town bustling with people. Joints and shops along side the road are simplly amazing and surely worth a visit. Since its supposedly a German Village one gets that feeling out there. If in Seattle do visit the town on a weekend.

We came here to view the Sound of Music but also enjoyed the natural beauty of this setting. This is only a short drive from Leavenworth.

We have lived in Leavenworth on Ski Hill Drive and our 3rd generation children are on the slopes in the winter. There is an excellent cross country ski trail and parking is adjacent to the ski lift. The old Olympic ski jump is still standing....More

Great spot for Mountain biking and it's being maintained and developed by Evergreen Bike Alliance. Trails a little wet but good except I'd suggest waiting til late April before heading out to the Freund Loop Trail....unless you want to push your bike through some snow...More

We just went tubing here with our 3 kids. They did let our family do one free run to see if we liked it. We ended up buying the tubing tickets for our 3 kids. It was $20 per kid for 6 runs so $60...More

We took a group of teenage girls here for innertubing and had a blast. Parking was easy, hills all accessible, and little to no lines. Staff was friendly, polite, and very helpful. Perfect place for younger skiers and beginners.

Excellent hills for beginners, I think anyone more advanced would be bored, as there are only 2 runs, but certainly, the place to go to start off. Staff are friendly and there is a nice bistro serving drinks and food. They have rope tows which...More

Drove from Arlington, over snowy pass and got there.... It was closed! Website not updated daily apparently. We did notice that there were many more signs that said "No" doing this or "No" doing that, than there was saying "Yes" like enjoying yourself..

Nice little hill for beginners and those who are eager to ski after a day in Leavenworth. 5 minutes drive from down town. Bring tough gloves/mittens, as the lift is pulling rope and you have to hold to it to get to the top.

Summer in Leavenworth WA (1 Replies)
Just returned from a wonderful trip to Leavenworth, where the definate highlight has got to be the mountainside outdoor production of "The Sound of Music". Starting at dusk, this terrific location (Leavenworth Ski Hill/Amphitheatre) lends itself to a truly authentic atmosphere. Not to be missed, honestly. Then there's the tubing down the Wenatchee River, which we didn't get to due to a sick husband, but this 2+ hour trip looks both family-friendly and exciting as well as relaxing. We stayed...More
