Beautiful place

We spent a night here on our way to Olympic National Park. The room was comfortable, the views were fabulous, the breakfast was delicious, and the wine was great. The owners and staff were very hospitable. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great winery and B&B
Jul 2018 • Couples
A friend and I stayed in the B&B. Rooms are very nice and spacious with beautiful view of Puget Sound. The first morning I looked out the window and saw a deer in the yard. We had wonderful breakfasts prepared by the owner, Rita. It's a great area to do some walking and then return and have some wine. I didn't do any wine-tasting but enjoyed the Madeleine Sylvaner and Madeleine Angevine white wines. I left with several bottles in my luggage. Beautiful location, wonderful owners and staff. I will definitely be back.

Design features need attention
Jul 2018 • Couples
The description on the website reads, “These rooms are located on the top floor above the winery and tasting room. Each has a view of the Puget Sound or the rolling pasture and vineyards. King size beds, private bathrooms, comfy robes, Wi-Fi included with every room. No TV, no alarm clock just a relaxing getaway awaits you here at Comforts of Whidbey.”

Note that “these rooms are located on the top floor above the winery and tasting room.” However, it appears that a lack of sound insulation and any other insulation that softens the noise travelling through hardened surfaces such as walls, beams and joists may not have been used. The music that plays from the ceiling speakers in the tasting room winery “located below the B&B suites” – travels and one hears the sound of the low frequency bass and other frequencies as it travels upstairs. We arrived at 3:30pm, fatigued after a long drive and in need of that “relaxing getaway” – however, as a result of the music below, rest was not an option and we went into the town of Langley and waited until the tasting room was closed. Upon return, the tasting room had finished but the work around the winery had not (understandable but it may be helpful to tell-your-guests ahead of time). There was a fork lift in front of our room at 8:30pm and what appeared to be either family or staff members chatting outside, carrying and dragging barrels and completing other work-related business. All could be easily heard from our room. With only one other person staying at the B&B that evening (as we were told), they decided to put us in room 6 – located right next to the entry door. Our room had two doors. One for the entrance and another one at the opposing side of the room. We decided to open it and found a common room (see pic). When questioned about it, we were informed “That’s just how they designed it.” To help with such design, perhaps the following might improve your guests experience. 1) Do not connect a sound system to the walls near the ceiling that will travel to the joists that transfer sound and vibration to the floors above (especially if you are hosting guests on the 2nd floor). Fix: a) Place the speakers on stands that are located on the 1st floor; b) Use a soundproofing insulation between floors such as the “Roxul Safe ‘n’ Sound” product line. c) Attach sound wave hangers to the joists such as the “WAVE Hangar” by Kinetics Noise Control – and then; d) attach a sound deadening drywall to these hangars. This will significantly decrease the transmission of sound to the floors above. 2) Perhaps find a better place for a common room and kitchenette rather than surrounding a guest suite. Fix: Due to the entrance door within a foot or so of the entrance to room 6, due to the kitchenette and refrigerator alongside one wall of room 6, and due to the common room on the other side of room 6 – why not simply turn room 6 into the actual “common room” or “reading room” or "tv room" or whatever you would like to call this communal space. 3) Perhaps place a screen on the window so that guests can use their windows without allowing bugs/insects in. 4) Many people sleep better in darker spaces so a blind for the transom window would be helpful to eliminate car lights at night and the sunrise in the morning for those guests troubled by such bright light. 5) Perhaps place a strike plate or locking mechanism on the jam of doorway to the bathroom so that it will not slide open if people prefer a bit of privacy.

Hope this helps.

Great location for wine tasting
Jul 2018 • Friends
Such great views as you enjoy your wkne tasting experience. Worth checking out. Not sure the wines were my favorite but that didn't ruin my experience. Really liked the service. Lots of space for large groups. Not in the downtown area but a nice drive out too.

Sips and views from the patio
Jul 2018 • Couples
With friends visiting, we drove to Whidbey Island for an afternoon of sight seeing and wineries. Comforts of Whidbey Winery was the last stop on our tour.
What a wonderful end to a fun-filled day!
Our wine tasting was very nice. The wines are very good and the variety of wine styles is just right. Our wine tasting guide was very personable and professional. He explained the history of the winery, the various wines produced and about the accommodations at the winery (there is a Bed & Breakfast on site).
After our tasting, we sat on the patio and enjoyed a bottle of wine with our friends. There was no rushing us to finish as he insisted we stay until our bottle was completed.
There is a view of the water from the patio - which is located above the wine processing area.
Cheese plates are available for purchase.
It is a relaxing place and one that we will revisit again.

Beautiful location, lovely wine
Jun 2018 • Friends
The view from the winery is stunning. It is worth a visit. We saw a young deer from the balcony.
The owners are lovely people. So accommodating and have great stories to tell. The wine is fantastic. Both red and white wine lovers will be happy here.
Definitely a place to add to your list while on Whidbey!

Comforts of Whidbey is a lush visit, for sure
Sep 2017 • Friends
While in Whidbey, "Comforts" was one of the SIX wineries we visited. Upon arrival, it's not all that spectacular. It's a warehouse with a small door as the entry. However, once you step through the door it's like Alice In Wonderland. You now have access to this amazingly large room, with vast views of lush trees and water. A huge balcony off the back of the building serves as a great place to have a glass of wine and simply enjoy all that is around you.

We had such an amazing time with the locals, as they were there for harvest. We had caught them at lunch, where one of the locals had created an amazing curry stew. Since the harvest team had completed their meal, we were invited to taste the stew. We all immediately wanted the recipe. Otherwise, I "believe" you're able to order cheese and crackers. Honestly, by the time we hit this winery we were feeling no pain.

Apparently, there are plans to have a wine and curry night in the near future. If able, make sure you DO IT!

We continued our visit with fun discussions and of course, wine tasting. Our favorite was the SIEGERREBE, which is available at all of the wineries. It's the area's grape and was present at all of the wineries we visited that day. However, Comfort was the BEST at this particular white wine. We took several bottles with us.

Make sure you're able to visit this winery and enjoy all it has to offer.

Great views and service
Aug 2017 • Friends
While I didn't love the wines here, the service was great. Their grounds are beautiful with a nice view, so this would be a great venue for an event ... or to stay in their B&B. I think the woman working at the tasting bar was the owner, regardless she had great information to share on the wines, the grapes and the tasting notes.

Wine lovers - not to be missed!
Aug 2017 • Friends
I collect wine from many of the best domestic wineries. As a resident of Whidbey I am excited to share about a local favorite. The Sangiovese is excellent and the Malbec is a great daily favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by the whites, which are not typically in my cellar. Drink well and enjoy the friendly folks at Comforts.

Amazing getaway!!!
Jul 2017 • Couples
Comforts of Whidbey is a beautiful family-owned winery and b&b located in Langley. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Rita, who runs this little gem along with her husband Carl. Our room was spacious, with a private bath, plush robes, and a direct view of the farm and vineyard. The b&b is located directly on top of the winery so I highly recommend doing wine tasting and then heading out for a walk around the farm. The family was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Also, Rita makes a delicious breakfast that is included with your stay. I can't wait to go back.
